Stanback was active but my guess is WP just didn't find right situation for Stanback to be on the field, not sure, just a guess.

Wade probably wanted to get him some reps at WR cuz he figured we'd be up by 30 in the 4th quarter.

Which is dumb IMO. You suit up your best players that can help you win NOW at all times. Let him learn the game in practice. I wonder what special teamer was left off the active roster for Stanback? Would it of made a difference on the kick coverage?

I was thinking maybe it had something to do with Davis being out and neediing new personnel to covereage but nothing was posted here. There's usually a grip of stuff about anything Stanback does. He does look good with that star on his head hopefully he turns out to be the great WR we hope him to be one day.

My guess is he wanted him familiar with the game time situations because he will be using him against the Patriots in some way.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Well, the inactives were all injured with no chance to play: Brown, Killa, Hoyte, and Terry Glenn. The other inactives were Free, Berger, and Marten.

So I think Stanback was only active because so many people were injured.

I wish we could find out how's he's progressing in practice as a WR. And why did Phillips say that he's more of a KR type than PR. Is he not shifty enough or sumthin

Who exactly would have played instead?

The inactives included Free, Marten, and Berger. They've been inactive every week. The others were Terry Glenn, Anthony Henry, Keith Davis, Courtney Brown, and Oliver Hoyte. All are injured.

So what player would have helped us win that game from that list?

I think PR's need to be more "quick twitch" type guys. I think Stanback is more of a build up your speed type of guy.

I think good PR's can be good KR's, but that's not necessarily the truth the other way around.

That said, Deion was one of the best PR's of all time and he and stanback have similiar builds.

Well looking at it now.. none of them I guess.

Shut up.

Wade felt sorry for him because Stanback is always standing on the sideline during the game in street clothes and wanted to see what he looked like all suited up and ready to roll.

Isn't Stanback supposed to be fast? Could have used them on that kick return...

Probably true, in general, but I wouldn't describe Crayton as "quick twitch" and he's doing well on punt returns this season.

Wade will unveil Stanback in the NE game. He is our secret weapon they haven't prepared for... ;)

I'm getting really close to wanting to see Stanback or Austin returning kicks instead of Tyson.

Why?

He can't play against first 5 teams and he'll be ready to play Pats?

I don't buy that one.

I agree and I'm a Tyson Thompson fan. In the handful of games I've seen so far this year, Tyson hasn't impressed me much as a returner. He is the most experienced however, so WP is probably concerned w/ one of the other guys fumbling. I think we are currently ranked 30th in returns, so if Tyson doesn't impress soon, I can see either Austin or Stanback being given a shot.
