Why were we not blitzing on G men's last drive?

Speaking of the Titans, the same thing happened to us that happened to their line in that Steeler game: They were absolutely gassed at the end.

That's why we drafted Brandon Williams and Victor Butler and signed Curtis Johnson -- because we need that third rusher. One of the two remaining guys has to come through and be at least a useful player for us.

Wade can't go out on the field and actually execute for the players. His history as a defensive coordinator speaks for itself. If the defense is substandard, blame the talent, not Wade.

But we have "too much talent" not to play better than this. That's why Tuna was run out of town.

And I was actually driving the Anti-Tuna bandwagon at one point.

But now I'm repenting. I've seen the error of my ways!

The Tuna managed to run his own butt out of town just fine. For all his supposed toughness, he was a quitter for his last decade.

Wade likes his 4th quarter defenses like he likes his stomach...soft.

I thought he had a great gameplan & call of the game earlier...the corners were letting him down but I liked the approach.

I think most everyone knew what was gonna happen when we saw the soft zones appear...I just groaned and got another beer.

I think he was describing more the fan reaction on this board rather than the actual circumstances under which Tuna left.

Every time the announcers yelled blitz and we came...NO ONE got through. We have the worst blitzes in the league. Or the talent...not sure which.

You are correct. I was talking about the attitude of many of our fans.

Why were we rush 4 when for the entire game we couldn't get a lick on Eli when we only rush 4?

Prevent only PREVENTED us from winning.

If we were going to let Eli convert on 3rd and long anyway..........Blitz the hell out of Eli and at least get a lick or two on him which may affect him the next play.

Doesn't Wade already know that our DBs can't cover for more than 4-5 sec and if pass rush doesn't get there G men will complete a pass? Blitz! damn it.

Watch Rex Ryan and the JETS?? They blitzed relentlessly during Pat's last drive and force Brady to pass before he was ready. That won the game. If JETS would have sat back, Brady would have picked them apart in that last drive.:bang2:

we did blitz numerous times on the last drive, manning burned our defense, We didn't play prevent defense

I DVR the game....I will go back and look at how many blitzes dallas dialed up on last series. It certainly looked like prevent which with 1 point lead would be poor coaching decision...but let me look at tape first.

The only time we pressured Eli all game was by the blitz because DWare and company sucked at the rush last night.

You can't rush if guys like Newman can't cover anyone. We blitzed and Eli made us pay all game long. So we kept guys back to cover, depending on Ware and company to pressure the QB...the coverage was fair, but he simply walked around until someone popped open because there was no pressure from the starting pass rush.

We tried everything we could, but Newman didn't cover and Ware didn't generate ANY pass rush.

NO. no. no. You blitz so your guys don;t have to cover as long or as well!

The only way to win consistently in the league is to apply the threat of constant pressure to the QB by any means necessary.

We did blitz but the problem is they didn't get to the QB. If the blitzers don't get to the QB why send them?

I would have liked to have seen Dallas sending the MLB more on the last drive. Brady had some good pressure when we sent him.

I won't go back and check the game to be certain, but I am fairly certain we never sent more than 5 and were rushing 4 on just about every play.

What I suggesting is an all out 7 man blitz. One that almost can't be pickup. Along with tight coverage to really force the issue.

Make them have whatever success they will have quickly.

The blitz only seemed effective in stopping the run last night.
