Why Zeke suspension is good long term

It reinforced my opinion that Garrett can't coach when any of his major players are gone. That's about it. Just one more wasted season with the red headed idiot.
Yep.

2015 season revisited.

Almost uncanny how parallel that season and this one are unfolding. Lose the most important cog in the wheel and the team goes off the rails.

No suspension to a starter has anything “good” about it....people aren’t thinking of the angle where Zeke let the team and fan base down. My hope is that he is ready to play with an attitude next season

THE silver lining is that hopefully the FO realizes Dak is an average QB and doesn’t give him a ridiculous contract

In a way the worst thing that happened last year was Zeke dominance. Some consequences of that:

1. Cowboys became completely reliant on unreliable person.
2. It hid fact that Dak can't throw open WRs yet.
3. Made Garrett/Linehan game time decisions look better than it warranted.

In a way, it would have been healthier for Cowboys if Zeke was just kind of good and not all world. The good news is the suspension peels back all those false layers of infallibility and likely forces them to acknowledge their over-valuation of their roster and coaching ability. There is silver lining to Zeke suspension.
Zeke is unreliable now? A farce of a suspension and he's unreliable? Also, I'd say our receivers are a problem. Dez not what he once was and if you want to talk about unreliable look no further than Terrance Williams. As much as we love Witten, he's gotta retire. He's severely limited in the passing game. He's done a better job blocking this year after he fell off but he can't get down the field anymore.

Reasons that Zeke getting suspended is terrible both long and short term:

1 He's one strike from a lifetime ban.
2 We're out of the playoff hunt by black Friday.
3 Dak would have been able to develop without the pressure of having to carry the team.
4 Zeke wouldn't be in Cabo now 'training' - which probably involves a lot of tequila.
Amen.

This Cowboys' team is in disarray, with it's staff and current players helpless to overcome the incompetence that's owning them. How anyone can find solace in this team's current situation is obviously looking for silver linings that don't exist. The Cowboys' owner/GM is even in total denial of any need to replace a staff that is incapable of making in-game adjustments and lacking in the creativity to make-do with the available talent.

If that's not enough, Roger Goodell the NFL Commissioner, is subbornly determined to reduce Ezekiel Elliott, the team's most prolific player, to a state of ruination over some trumped-up charges coming from an extremely unreliable source. He even threatens him with permanent suspension. If this situation can somehow be concocted to seem like a good thing, I'd surely be even more depressed to be subjected to what a hopelessly catastrophic situation is like.

People just don’t seem to get it.

This is Garrett all ten years here. It’s not like this year just exposed issues that were hidden deep down.

There were players frustrated with him going all the way back to the Wade era.

The guy simply can’t change, because he is what he is. The only benefit in regards to Garrett this team got was when Jerry finally lessened his role on the team and called it ambiguous.

Jimmy Johnson was adjusting from the get go and cleaning up the team’s weaknesses, meaning he has direction, plus he didn’t like to lose. It was his reputation on the line.
