Wide Recievers disappoint in Dak Prescott' debut

Dropped at least 2 touchdowns, and a dozen other drops, not to mention the T-Will debacle to end the game. Dak is gonna put the onus for this loss on his shoulders like a real leader, but the truth is our wideouts just werent good enough today. Dak probably had flashbacks to Mississippi State on a few of those Beasley drops. Witten's lack of RAC ability is limiting this team's explosive potential both down the field, and before the sticks. It makes the call to run a Tight End screen even more puzzling.

P.S. Free was getting consistently beat by a guy with half a hand, and I wouldnt mind seeing more of Alfred Morris. Reminds me of the good old Marion Barber days.

It's amazing that they don't drop passes for Romo all of the time. You might almost think it has to do with ball placement or velocity or something that Dak is doing.

Nah, that can't be it. The receivers are all at fault. Just bad luck that they all forgot how to catch.

Not sure if serious. A couple of Daks throws were a little high, but certainly not uncatchable. I think we can all agree that NFL wide recievers dont need a perfectly thrown ball to catch it. We're talking HOF TE, Top 5 WR, and Forum golden boy Beasley. They CAN do better.

Very serious. This forum is a lost cause lately.

Id really like to see the coaches tape to see what is going on with the WRs.

Either they flat out suck, JG's route tree is garbage or Dak just wasn't seeing the field. Based on history I would see JG's offense probably sucks.

Yes, there were some drops. Dak, looked solid for it being his first game, but let's not be oblivious to the fact that he over threw some of those balls and was extremely lucky none of them were intercepted. He still got a long way to go.

That is what I am wondering. The Giants LBs were stacking the box, no excuse for not getting Dez involved in some crossing routes or slants behind them. Every other team in the NFL does it over and over.

The pass to Beasley was high due to pass rush on Dak. Dak had to place the ball high, lower in his body and it would have been a touchdown. Ball placement was a part of it.

The Giants played defense exactly the same way that everyone played us last year.
They stacked the box, waited for us to run on 1st and second down, then pressed the receivers (Dez) and doubled up to force Dak to quickly throw the ball to Witten and Cole on third down.
This will be how everyone plays us.
Our offensive coordinator didn't make the defense pay for being predictable like they made our offense pay for being predictable. We didn't move Dez around to get the ball into his hands, they didn't beat the run defense by play action on early downs and misdirection plays. No real screens ect.

It was just run straight into the clogged line on 1st and 2nd down and then throw short passes on 3rd down while facing pressure. When every drive has to be a 15 play drive you are going to stall out eventually. 1 holding penalty and we are done ect.

So yes...Dez and Beasley and Williams didn't play great. But this is on the coaching for doing exactly what the defense wanted them to do exactly when they wanted them to do it.

Get used to it...unless Dak audibles every play and snaps the ball with 1 second like Romo does we are going to have a repeat of tonight.

I thought the first time with Dez in the end zone it was on Dak. Ball was thrown to the inside with the defender. The second time, Dez should have made the catch. The pass was decent. It probably could have been a little better, a little less air. But it was there.
