Absolutely whiffed on his man. Right up the middle. Can't believe Jones didn't get stopped in the backfield. A horrid play. He needs to sit. We want the German!

I have not read this yet so I may have missed it - are we sure it was a called fake? I got the feeling that Jones could see his punt would get blocked and he took off. I didn't look at the replay close enough to watch the downfield blocking, or lack of.

Yes, 100% planned, practiced, called play. They said afterwards that during preparations they noticed something about Philly on punt returns that made them believe they'd be susceptible to the fake. The right opportunity came up and they executed. Kudos to the coaches and ST unit on that one. Huge play.

yeah Wilber whiffing made me believe at the moment that Jones was just a heads up player lol. We are so fortunate that defender was coming straight for the block and Jones had the quickness to turn those shoulders and get up the field. Wilber also had a horrible horrible hold on another punt..

i think it was called. Go back and watch, the team was huddled up and they all came out signaling thumbs up to the cowboys sideline.

Been waiting for him to be cut for 2 years. I was sickened when he got a new deal. You are right, he completely whiffed. I thought the refs were going to call a hold on him b/c he was grabbing the defender from behind.

That's odd though. The last thing a team should do is something out of the ordinary before pulling a trick play. If the opposing team is attentive and smart, that's a sign to expect something. If I see a punt team even looking towards the sideline before a punt, my antennas are up.

I'm not questioning that they all signaled thumbs up. Just seems weird. Oh well...it certainly worked.

Yeah, they could have easily called that with as many flags as they were throwing out there.

it was odd and that is why it caught my attention. they were in the huddle longer than usual and then all signaled thumbs up to our sideline and they were all the way over on the left has of the west end sideline right in front of me.

edit: just checked the tv broadcast and they were showing the replay of the incompletion from third down and you can not see them huddle up and signal thumbs up....hopefully the coaches film will show it, i imagine it will.
