I admit this question has occasionally crossed my mind. One never knows with Jerry.

They could do a lot worse than Landry Jones in the 3rd. I have watched this kid play football since he was in the 8th grade. He will be a good NFL quarterback. He just needs to learn behind a veteren for a couple of years.

That being said, I think the Broncos will take him.

Barry Switzer? If he has any say, the JJ truly is a buffoon...now, if Garrett said "I want Landry" then I get it...

...that all being said, no QB in this draft for the cowboys please unless we pick up extra picks somewhere or we grab one really late that has potential...I can't see Jones as a Cowboy based on that (i.e.: he will get drafted somwhere before the 5th round)

If Landry Jones falls to the 5th.......I am all for the Cowboys drafting him.

The first 4 rounds need to fill holes though, IMO. Three of those 4 rounds need to be big uglies.

While I don't like the QB, he's a much better prospect then that waste at the top of the 3rd round, McGee.

Top of the 4th but who's counting. Henry Melton went a couple of picks later, so 'nuff said.

I'd be ok taking Jones if we somehow got an extra 5th and used it on him.

I thought it was interesting that Gruden said if he ever went back to coach he was never huddling again.

Gruden will not be coaching the Cowboys. I would like to give Landry Jones a chance and he succeeds in the NFL.

Landry Jones playing for the Cowboys and succeeding, think of all the things that will be said about him/his name , Tom Landry and Jerry Jones.

I really hope we can get efficient at the hurry up mode this year. Most of the teams I watched in the playoffs were good at it.

I'm not opposed to Jones later,as well. I read where a scout thought that the offense restricted what we was able to do....was interesting

Landry Jones is a very good football player but I think he needs a year or two to mature physically as he is slightly built for an NFL player. But I do think he can make the throws and he processes the game pretty quickly which will give him an advantage. I don't think he is a guy that we should take in the first round due to more pressing needs. If he is the highest rated player after the first round then I don't have a conceptual problem selecting him.

He would be a steal in the third round, and Orton might be expendable after this year if we took Jones.

Don't get me wrong, I really like DeMarco Murray, but considering he was the last guy that Barry recommended, I doubt Jerry will be running up to the stage to draft another Switzer guy.

And it's not that I don't like Murray, it's just coming out of school, he was viewed as a talented RB that was injury prone. And after 2 years, he's a talented RB that is injury prone. He was who we thought he was, maybe a bit more, but nothing to write home about, atleast not after 2 years.

I think Murray was an excellent pick up in the 3rd round. Great value. I don't think he is any more prone to injury than any other running back.
