I like Buck. But trying to repeat is very difficult. I think his team is the 2nd best in the division this season.

It seems there is a pattern with him.

He gets fired and the respective team wins the World Series the next year.

Yankees
Diamondbacks

Rangers, no. But they came real close in 2012?

Baltimore. His longest stint as manager by far.
The Yankees on their last legs in 2012 STILL took him out.

He might still get a World Series but it's probably not with the orioles.

With any team/organization?

Or did the buck stop in Kansas City last year?

Before horsehead Girardi gets another

Buck has mellowed some and better for it. He has created a great environment in Baltimore. The Oriole way is back.

I don't follow baseball close enough to make an intelligent comment. But, a lot of people in these parts think he can walk on water.

Maybe he mellowed too much?

Environment is bad

The only difference is now he doesn't get fired after 2-3 years. Been in baltimore 5! Years?
Otherwise results are same, mellow or not = zero titles

I think the Red Sox are the best in the division by a wee amount.

On paper that could be argued.

Im sticking with last year's division winner. A lot has been made about losing Cruz and Markakis but I think thats overblown. Last year we didnt get much from Machado or Weiters and Hardy was hurt a few times. Chris Dais had that oblique early in the year and never was fully healthy. Markakis was declining so not hard to make up for him. A healthy Machado, and Weiters when he comes back, and a rebound from Chris Davis will more than make up for losing Cruz. Schoop should be better in his 2nd year. Pitching is not gaudy or flashy but better than people think who dont follow the team.

I think the Red Sox are the best in the division by a wee amount. Does it mean they'll win the East?

You know the answer to that.

A lot can happen between now an October.

Sox? Nah....
Balt won't sniff 90 wins again .. Let alone 96 wins.

Until we aren't, yankees are al east champs.

I don't follow baseball close enough to make an intelligent comment. But, a lot of people in these parts think he can walk on water.

Pretty intelligent observation.

If you think that you just arent paying attention

I pay attention.

You are a fan of a team devoid of any real rich history. (Earl weaver and cal ripken - that's it) holla eddie Murray.
You count your orioles before they hatch.

Apparently, one "Buck" is not enough.

Winningest team of the 70's.

Best group of living HOFer's in MLB.
Brooks Robinson, greatest 3B of all time. Cal Jr who shattered Gehrig's consecutive game streak. Jim Palmer, highest winning % of HOF pitchers when he entered the HOF, 3 time CY Young winner, 7 20 win seasons. Eddie Murray the only switch hitter besides Mantle to amass 500+ homers & 3000+ hits. Frank Robinson . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Best fans in baseball.

4 pitchers that won 20 games in the same season

Camden Yards started the new stadium craze as the Orioles were first to do a new classy stadium

The Oriole Way was what every other team in baseball tried to emulate & judged their own organizational success by.

Once again, you just arent paying attention, plenty of tradition and history.

Ok. You have a couple of "footnotes"

You almost got the better team in 1901.

I don't think Brooks Robinson is the best 3rd baseman of all time and I would suggest that Cincinnati might have more claim to Frank Robinson then do the Oriols but I do agree, there have been some great players in Baltimore.

In Baltimore Frank won the Triple Crown and MVP in 66. Went to 4 WS and won 2 in his 6 yrs there. So he was a big part of their success.

I know Brooks is debatable, but not for Orioles fans :D
