Do you think with or w/o a contract for Dak will Andy get a fair shake to compete and win the starting job? Will it make a difference if Dak is only the one yr deal or if signed long term?.

Dalton is Clear Eyed about this.

He has left it to us to question this.

If Dalton is healthy and Dak is too ..

then Big Mike would need to open the position to both players and not do it secretly.

It needs to be fair and for everybody to see with their own lying eyes.

Dalton isn't close to being better than Dak. He will get a chance but his lack of talent compared to Dak makes it a no contest.

Anybody that thinks Dalton is better than Dak or even close to Dak has a Dak hate agenda or hasn't watched Dalton play.

Dalton last year....16 TDs 14 INTs
Dalton in 5 playoff games.....1 TD 6 INTs

What fair shake? He was brought in as the backup. He'll play if Prescott is unavailable, for one reason or another.

The NFL rarely has open competitions for starting QB. If you do, then neither of them are any good and you have issues. Dak is the man. Dalton was brought in to be a backup. he knows that. As long as Dak is here, Dalton has 0% chance to be a starter unless injury. All they wanted to do is improve our terrible situation at backup QB, which might have been the worst in the league. He was not brought here to compete for the starting job. I know many want to think that because of their views on Dak but it's not the case. So not sure what you think a "fair shake" is here. Will Dalton be paid to be a backup to Dak and be ready in case any injury happens? Absolutely. Sounds like a "fair shake" to me.

If Dak was 8-8 last year, then overall he is 40-26 since joining the Cowboys.

We want to WIN now!

Guess you better hope, the offense, defense, special teams play better and the coaches can implement their new systems.

Another one these games? Like game winning drives?

Sorry, Dak we have given you the best there is and 3 years of .500 ball is pathetic!!!!

Per your logic he is well above .500.

Yes, in exactly the same way Sean Payton is going to give Jameis Winston a fair shake to compete for Drew Brees's job.

Exactly. This isn't pee wee football. There is not open competitions all over the place, especially at QB. If you don't know who your starter is right now, you are in trouble. So many people have these views on Dak and they honestly think Dalton was brought in to try and take his job. Dalton is nothing but insurance in case Dak gets hurt. Which has not happened in 4 years.

He is a great backup to have and probably one of the best. He could start on teams, too. Just not here he won't.
