Will Dez take a pay cut? "Hell no"

Dez stands there and does nothing. ( in my opinion) Dak was trying to throw it away, bad play by Dak, but Dez does nothing to help his young QB, nothing.

The angle from behind the QB clearly shows it.....Witten and Beasley were wide open. That play gains 40 yards+ if Dak throws to Witten.

That pick is on Dak.

The other 2 turnovers were on Dez.

Listening to his interview kind of makes me sad because he still 100% believes he's an elite WR.

And I think we all know if he had Romo or another QB who was accurate and willing to throw deeper balls, Dez could still be much more productive than he is in this offense.

He did a good job of keeping quiet most of the year, though. You can tell in that interview how tore up he is at how he's being used.

you Dez, just a word of caution for your next team, if you continue to hold the ball like a loaf of bread, expect it to wind up on the ground for the dogs to grab...no "wonder" zeke did poorly, no one fed him the bread that Dez left on the turf

What would Dez' production be in New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, New England, Los Angeles, Philly, Atlanta, Seattle, Washington, or Minnesota?

Dez is far from perfect, but with a legit quarterback, he'd still be a force.

He doesn't need to "take a paycut".
Few guys will as there is ego involved.
He does need to extend at lower bases going forward and then be restructured to lower cap hits now.
You can't pay his full base in 2018 versus the cap.
No reason to believe he is fully healthy and overly productive.

Actually. I find it hilarious and not sad at all. Hes torn up because the world knows Dak needs to "throw it in his helmet" :D to make him happy. Awwwe... Poor wittle multimillionaire.

Garrett should just quit, lol the players bypass him, his owner second guesses him. What a mess.

Seriously what coach would come here???

I wonder what he's going to propose/want in terms of a scheme change. The issue is a combination of not being able to create enough separation and Dak not being able to properly create a window for him on those ~8-15 yard sideline throws, which is Dez's go to. He's having more success on the drags/slants.

To be clear, Dez is still our best receiver. Taking him out with no replacement will hurt the team's playmaking ability. And Dak isn't on the level of Romo to make the receivers around him that much better(think Miles Austin, Laurent Robinson, etc.)

With that also said, a pay cut makes sense. He's paid on the level of Julio and Demaryius Thomas, and more than, for example, Jeffery and Keenan Allen. It would be different if Dez was just having a bad year and was a little younger. I would say that a scheme change and getting Dak on the same page is more of the priority. But he's clearly on the decline, and he's an athletic receiver, that's going to hurt his longevity.

Not saying a big pay cut, but he shouldn't be getting $14 million a year. I just don't see him ever being at a top tier level again. I think Jerry+ the organization needs to make that clear, and if he doesn't comply they need to be willing to trade or get rid of him. If Dez really wants to stay in Dallas, he'll take a cut.

so instead of talking to the oc or the head coach he is going straight to jerry

Realistically though, put yourself in Dez's shoes.. Keep in mind, I am in no way a Dez apologist...

Dez was already super frustrated by lack of opportunity. He's not blind, he sees how terrible Dak is, just like us. He feels he gets open, yet Dak continually checks it down to a back or some other short route.

Then Dez watched Dak sail a ball 7 feet over Zeke's head.. Yeah, I'd be frustrated also. I'm definitely not saying it's right, but I understand why he reacted the way he did.

Same for when Zeke pulled up against Denver
How many passes hit Dez right in the hand/chest area and he dropped them? These are in most games we lost. When you do have opportunity, make the best. Otherwise, get out.
