Will Garrett stay aggressive?

This will be key for the rest of the season.

If he goes back to ultra predictability than it doesn't give us our best chance to win.

Last night his playcalling was amazing. It is what we have all been expecting all along.

But will he keep it up? Will he stick to the fast balls and never give a curveball? Have we seen the last deep pass down for the rest of the season.

If Garrett calls games that are designed for us to go take the game rather than manage the game we will be tough to beat.

Common sense would tell you to stick with the more aggressive style but I don't completely trust him to do it.

I think weather may dictate agressiveness in Washington but if conditions are good we have to put pressure on them because they do not want to get into a shootout.

All I know is that if we keep up the play action game like we did yesterday we are going to put up some points. That first TD was beautiful on the call and the execution.

I think Garrett may have been holding back for the end of the year. I saw more playaction between the 20s yesterday than I did for the rest of the year.

I want to see us stay aggressive in taking shots when the opportunities are there because that is how we score points.

I also want to see us aggressive with the players we send out there - I want to see even more of Felix and Otree. I think they bring a dimension of speed that this offense otherwise sorely lacks. Having that speed and quickness out there will threaten the Skins and make them back down a bit from their blitz packages.

I would also like to see a few more passes to Felix - that swing route connection early in the game last week was beautiful. Felix made a tough catch cleanly and in full stride. he clearly can do it and it is criminal that we don't do it more because of how much of a terror he is in the open field with his moves, strength and speed.

I've been asking for more play action and on Thursday JG finally delivered.
Two questions?

What took him so long to see it's effectiveness? And what made him change?

Will we continue to not make mistakes in the redzone? Will our receivers continue to hold onto the ball and convert when necessary? If so, I think we will see Garret stay aggressive. Just like this week. It'll be like a Christmas miracle.

I really hate the fact that our offensive running game is so predicated upon the draw.

It doesn't matter. If we can't run the ball the deep pass will get shut down.

I have to say this every team is different, cant play the same way with every team. Garrett and the offense has to improve and practice hard.

Finally Garrett called a great game. We saw some screen passes too. And yes, I have the same question as you, mainly, what took Garrett so long?

again, but his well-called games are few and far between. When you ask "And what made him change?" I've got to reply with: He still needs to prove that he has.

Hopefully his light bulb has gone on so that he callls games like this more more consistently. I'd hate for this game to be another one of his one-hit-wonders.

They actually had a package with Otree, Austin, and Felix all in the game at the same time.

That puts a lot of speed on the field and makes the playaction even more deadly.

Teams collapse on Felix every time and when we playaction with him it really gets teams off balance.

Thats true but even the deep pass to Miles that scored a TD was into tripple coverage.

He just put a move on the DB and got a step on everybody.

Romo throws that deep ball down the sideline well and it shocks me that we hardly ever throw it.

If there is one thing people still have not figured out about Garrett is that he is about matchups.

He is going to attack those matchups. The Saints secondary was starting, I believe, their second and third options at cornerback. Austin was going to test Jenkins one way or the other.

I realize there is the idea that Garrett and the offense had a big part in that win because he was "aggressive", I give even more credit to Phillips who called his finest game. The defense was outstanding against a highpowered offense. Just as it was against the Chargers. We still don't have that synergy however. The defense almost crumbled because we did not get the job done and put the game away when we had the chance.

its not being aggressive, its being balanced, and keep the defense guessing. over the past month he has been utterly predictable with his play calling and at times very stubborn.

Keep running the ball effectively, stay aggressive, and Garrett will be giving this offense it's best shot at success through out the remainder of this year.

I liked that play he ran close to the goal line where he had Felix and Barber in the backfield and he faked a screen to both guys and then threw it to Witten.

This Offense could be so dynamic if he would just let it be dynamic.

Michael Smith reported before the game that we would attack the Saints early and often so you're right. We need to try to dictate every game. Bottom line.
