Will Goodell suspend Wilfork for the poke in the eye incident?

Interesting to see what happens with this after it is reviewed over the weekend. Does Vince Wilfork get suspended one game for this incident, or will a fine be in order? (if this has been discussed, please forgive me).

Extremely doubtful. He'll get a good sized fine, though.

I would suspend him a game, but I would guess he would get a fine.

BTW, did they call unsportsmanlike conduct on that play? I saw the replay of him getting poked in the eye, but I didn't see the whole play and wasn't really sure what was going on

Had Jacobs actually been injured on that play, I think the Giants really could have pressed Goodell for Wilfork to be suspended at least 1 game.

Fine is in order - nothing more - unless he's done it b4.

The ref's didn't see it. The penalty was a delay of the game on Seau, for holding Jacobs down on the ground.

He may get a game. You never know.

Look at how many games Haynesworth got for the cleats to the face on Gurode.

There's a fine line between cleats on the face and requiring stiches and poking in the eye and doing no damage. Not to say nothing will come from it cause Im sure the NFL will do the "What if.." as they should, but they'll be lenient.

An intentional poke in the eye deserves a 1 game suspension. That was wilfull act outside the rules that had high potential for injury.

not as severe as stomping on a player's head, and seems to be a 1st poking offense

so a fine I would say

i wish he'd get suspended. it isn't just about the eye, it is how he's been playing throughout the season. Goodell needs to suspend him to send a message that that kind of thing is not acceptable.

but, he'll probably just get fined. i hope it is a LOT

No, the NFL has been protecting the Patriots all season long. I've already counted 4 personal foul penalties in this game that should have gone against the Patriots that were never called. If you want to beat the Patriots, you gotta beat the refs.

he wasn't trying to poke him in the eye he was pulling a power trip "I am a big man and can put my finger in your face"

that anyone really looks at the replay and says he was actually trying to poke him in the eye is in full on blinders mode, I hate the pats as much as the next guy, and wilfork is a scumbag but he wasn't trying to poke someone in the eye, doesn't matter how you spin it, the intent wasn't there.

I think I heard Brady whining that same thing from the sidelines. I'm guessing Goodell will see fit for a $150 fine.
