just speculating he could. Michael Smith was giving an NFL report on sportcenter just now and said he could be shipped to Buffalo for a draft pick. One of the picks that they got for McGahee supposedly. I don't know.....we've all been disappointed with JJ to some extent, but he's always shown flashes and the O.Line has been pretty poor too.....my gut says to keep him one more year and he could bust out. Problem of course is he's a Unrestricted FA after this season. Tough call.

I definitely wouldn't give Jones up for a third. He is worth more than that in my opinion. I feel like he should keep his role and allow Barber to continue to emerge and stay fresh. The Boys are more dangerous with two fresh backs, then one at this stage. Why trade for an unknown rb in the draft w/a third when you have a known commidity in Jones and are trying to reach the SB?

I understand he will be a FA next year, but I would hate for Barber to get injured and then have no one to take over for him this coming year. Thompson is coming off of injury and is still unproven to depend on him and justify trading Jones.

a third for julius jones? thats ridiculous.. jones would have easily had 1,300 yards last year if he didnt have to compete with marion barber...no 1 can disagree with this.. its only a little over 100 more yards than he did have..and if leonard davis is the monster were all hoping he will be then julius will have an even better year since hes good in space

If we trade him.. With our luck he'll be the next Emmitt Smith in Buffalo.

Not likely with Losman as the QB. If he did trade him...I could see JJ moving up in the draft and probably drafting an overrated rb who turns out to be a bust.

I disagree with that. And its more like over 200 yards.

A third for JJ?:bang2:
A fourth for JJ?
Surely these um, football fans are just having fun wit us.
If not they are beyond help.
Worst case scenario: Cowboys, with JJ and Barber have the best RB tandem in the NFL.
Ridiculous for a third or fourth rounder for JJ.

We all hope that your post gets owned next season. JJ & MBII better be the best RB tandem next year.

If it happens it won't be to draft day, I thought the Cowboys showed some interested in Lozenzo Booker at the Combine.

The Bills are going to have to give up more than they got for McGahee if they want him.(not less) Jones is coming off a more productive year even though he had to share the carries with Barber. Jones also doesn't have any baggage like McGahee. The Bills were basically forced to get rid of him lowering his value, Dallas is not in that situation. If the Bills want him they better offer something pretty enticing.

Julius Jones
267 1084 4.1 77L 4TD 5(20+) 43(FD)

Willis McGahee
259 990 3.8 57L 6TD 4(20+) 48(FD)

I'm expecting JJ back to form now that BP is gone. Even though his stats wern't bad he was inconsistent and didn't play with any fire.

Oh my god, the difference in statistics is like so mind blowing. So mind blowing it might be worth an extra 7th round pick.

This would be a bad move, keep Julius, use him correctly and reap the benefits.

Willis McGahee got dealt for a 3rd this year, a 3rd next(which is worth one round less now, so really a 4th) and a 7th this year.

T Jones as traded for what equals to a top of the 3rd round pick.

If we can get for JJ what buffalo got for McGahee, and we have no intention of resigning JJ after 2007, i'd have to consider it.

THERE are guys available in FA and some interesting backs in the 2nd we could grab. The whole thing comes down to, do we want to get something for JJ if we have absolutely NO interest in resigning him in 08. Is his absence in 2007 worth a couple picks if we truely have no intent on him being a Cowboy after this year? Will we go down the tubes if we give his 260 carries to someone else? It is a risk, but young backs are a dime a dozen. I just think this whole thing is gonna revolve around Peterson and the ability to get him.

I don't want to trade Julius, but if they really don't have intentions to resign him then I'd rather get something for him. The way the market is getting he is probably going to get a LOT of money when he becomes a FA. Giving a large signing bonus to a player with a history of injury is something you have to think carefully about.

Julius Jones is worth more than a 3rd or 4th round pick in a trade....he can be productive if he didnt have to share carries.
