Well, that seems like a stupid idea. Focusing more heavily on Power 5 schools doesn’t actually improve drafting....it does the opposite. It shrinks the talent pool, encourages safer and lazier evaluations, and increases the risk of over drafting “name-brand” players. In the process, you miss late bloomers, system fits, and hungry players who had to earn every rep instead of being handed exposure.
The job of an NFL scouting department isn’t to follow recruiting trends, it’s to find players who can play on Sundays, regardless of where they started.
