Will Pacman even be able to play?

If what's being reported on Rototimes.com is correct, then we have traded our 5th pick for Pacman. Unless I'm mistaken, he's still on indefinite suspension until Commish Goodell decides to lift it.

Has there been an indication that he'll be reinstated at some point before preseason starts up? It still seems like we could be giving away our 5th for free if the Commissioner decides to keep him out. Am I missing something?

He is still suspended but unless he gets into some sort of trouble again, before it's lifted prior to training camp, then he'll get the suspension lifted.

if he doesn't get reinstated jerry and pacman should sue goodell for abuse of power

I would imagine the Cowboys have probably done their due diligence in this matter, even having some insight/knowledge as to Jones' status with the league office.

Another words, I don't believe Dallas is flying blind on this.

I believe that Jerry wouldn't be signing Pacman w/o having a good inclination of whether or not Goodell is going to reinstate him. I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry has heard somewhere, if not from Goodell himself, that if Pacman keeps his nose clean, he will be reinstated. If Goodell doesn't reinstate him and he has kept out of trouble, then it will solidify his position as crappiest commiss ever.

I wouldn't be surprised if this whole Pacman deal is settled by the time Jerry returns to Dallas. On the other hand if the Titans remain stubborn, it could drag on through the draft until the Titans realize Jerry won't ante up anything more then a 5th rounder. No way should we agree to more then that. Wouldn't be surprised if Titans owner Bud Adams? thinks he can show the football world how tough/smart he is by holding out for more. While Pacman could really help us out particularly if suspension lifted in time for him to begin working out at VR (even if separate time from other players), we all need to realize the odds are against us even if he wants to reform.

Goodell would counter sue Pacman for being a dumbarse

That lawsuit would likely not even see the light of a courtroom. He's under suspension, of an undetermined time frame, for being a screw up. There was no assurance he'd be reinstated after a year.

That said I'm quite sure he will be, and all this Roger-hating is just that...hating. Not one person here gave a crap about (Though I'm sure plenty will try and claim they did) whether Pacman played another second in the league as long as he played for any team not named the Dallas Cowboys.

Now all the sudden Roger is a meanie and a bully and should be sued cause "By GAWD! HE'S ABUSING A POTENTIAL COWBOY!!!!!!"

Geez.

taking things kind of far arent you?

You can rest assured that Jerry has already talked to Goodell and is confident he'll be reinstated. He wouldn't just be blindly pursuing this with his fingers crossed.

Related to Goodell by any chance? Or I guess you must have missed the New England thing, not to mention Wade Wilson. Goodell's not exactly been infallible.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. :D

Goodell feels way too much like David Stern to me. Some may completely disagree, but I don't think that is a good thing. I would like him to be more consistent, and I would like him to have a little less inflated opinion of himself because he comes across very high and mighty.

I feel the same way.

not really trying to be as rude as this is going to sound, but we've got 5+ pacman threads out there - are those not enough to comment in?

Jerry is a gambler. He's just looking to pick up talent on the cheap. He is operating on his oil-drilling instinct. I could hit dirt here, but I could hit an oil jack pot.

Drill on!

“The clubs that have contacted us, I have made no commitments about his availability,” Goodell said. “I’ve said I would make an evaluation and a decision prior to training camp. But there have been no promises made by me about what the outcome of that is, because I’ve been very clear. I’d like to see how Pacman does and how he responds.”

I believe Goodell. It would be unprofessional of him to leak that he may reinstated PacMan. Not only that, it would be unfair to the Titans.

Ed Werder has just said on GAC that the Titans want this years and next years fourth round pick.

wow! they have some nerve asking that much for a player they're gonna get rid of one way or another.
