I have been thinking about this all day because of Wade Phillips history - he's one of those coaches that favors veterans, and he is also familiar with Bledsoe when he was starting in New England and going against Phillips Bills.
Digging deeper - I believe in 1998 back in Buffalo, Phillips went with 36 year old Doug Flutie over Rob Johnson who the Bills spent a 1st and 4th rounder on and also a lot of money. $$$ Wasn't a popular move, but Flutie led Buffalo to the playoffs in 98' and 99' before being benched by owner Ralph Wilson in the now infamous 'music city miracle' game because Rob Johnson lit up Indianapolis the final week of the season in a meaningless game in which Indy rested all their starters because they had clinced a 1st round bye.
We know how Jerry felt about Bledsoe, and there's a reason he hasn't been released yet. And now that Parcells is gone I could see Jerry pulling the trigger and putting Romo back on the bench. You have to figure that deep down Jerry can't stop thinking about Romo fizzling out and finisihing 1-4 down the stretch as well, especially in a year when the NFC was weaker than ever.
Definitely more than meets the eye here.......and I'm not sure at this point I'm against keeping Bledsoe around and giving him the starting job back.
