This isn't to discuss the Jaylon Smith pick as there's other places for that. The question is really this: does Rod Smith have a place on this team next year?

Backfield is crowded with Elliott, McFadden, Morris and Dunbar (who's definitely on the PUP). Is Smith the 4th RB they carry, someone to stash on the PS, what do you think?

He's going to have to really impress on special teams to even have a chance.

For sure. Dunbar and McFadden are not exactly known for their durability.

The only lock for the team is Zeke. The rest don't have dead money. I cannot recall one run Smith has made though.
