Will Romo fans reject Jerry drafting a QB...

Its been a long time since Jerry has drafted a QB... but I think this is the year he pulls the trigger on a young Qb in the draft, more specificly after his wheeling and dealing at the end of day 1, I can see Jerry shocking everyone like he did in 01.

Romo is not Jerrys hand picked QB, a GM of Jerrys EGO not having "his guy" on the roster/QB depth chart is rare and has been a long time coming. Granted, a lot of things in Jerryland are unorthadox, but I think Jerry is ready to acquire his pet project after having heart broken by the guy he shared the same Birthday... Jerry has sat back and watched, as "pet guys" like Vinny, Bledsoe and Brad Johnson drop games repeatedly with his Supremely talented roster... how long will he wait?

The days of Jerry not having his guy on the QB depth Chart will soon be over and the question is how will Romo and (for the sake of this board) his feckless fans base handle a hand picked heir apparent?

Should make life at ESPN easier!

I have a problem with Jerry drafting anyone esp QB's. He should leave that up to the people he pays to do it or at least the one's he pays to have the title. Last QB Jerry drafted was........Quincy Carter

If he wants to make the call to the player and write down the name on the card to feel important that's fine but stay out of it.

They are looking for a developmental guy, it almost was Booty last year. They could miss out on the guy/s they like this year too.

Although I think you are seeing ghosts and playing too much Madden, I think the Cowboys ought to draft a good young quarterback. I don't think Romo would be offended and, as a Romo fan, I know I wouldn't be piqued.
It is only good sense to bring in a young quarterback to learn the system and be ready when needed.

Jerry Jones was surprised that Romo got the nod when he did, but it didn't take many games for him to become a true believer. Contrary to your assumption, Romo is 'his boy', I think, and if a young quarterback is drafted it won't be because Jones wants Romo supplanted.

I'm having trouble deciding if your whole post was a joke but I will address this. Who offered Romo his contract? Who commented on making things Romo friendly? Seems to me that Romo is his QB and I actually worry that he might not bring in young guys that we can maturate for trade or promote because of this.

One of the worst QB draft classes in recent memory. Yeah let's get one now...

Who were you thinking? Pat White, and actually trying to make him a QB in the NFL? Figured that you were referencing Q mostly.

HAAAAABAAAAAAHAAAAA!!!!

We are going to find Romo's heir apparent in the middle rounds of one of the worst draft classes for Qbs in recent years???

And as far as Romo not being "Jerry's QB", that is just ridiculous. Did you forget about that $70 million dollar contract, mostly guaranteed, that Jerry gave Romo???

You dont drop that type of coin on a player that is not yours, you just dont. Also, Romo is still in his 20s so why would we be drafting a replacement this early, even if we could actually find one (which I highly doubt with our draft position and current crop of college QBs).

This thread has "MEGA FAIL" written all over it.

I think the time to think about a young QB is next offseason, and that depends on this season.

Jerry drafted Quincy because he was infatuated with McNabb.

Does this mean we will draft a seven foot brain-dead lumbering lug because Rothlesburger won the superbowl?

I'd like to see us take a chance on late Day 2 QB, assuming one is there. It should be a big, prototype QB (not because of Roethlesberger) like Tom Brandstater from Fresno State, Hunter Caldwell from Louisville, or Chase Holbrook from New Mexico State. They are going to get time to develop behind Romo and Kitna and could turn into a valuable trade commodity (Matt Schaub, Matt Cassell) down the road.
