Its been a long time since Jerry has drafted a QB... but I think this is the year he pulls the trigger on a young Qb in the draft, more specificly after his wheeling and dealing at the end of day 1, I can see Jerry shocking everyone like he did in 01.

Romo is not Jerrys hand picked QB, a GM of Jerrys EGO not having "his guy" on the roster/QB depth chart is rare and has been a long time coming. Granted, a lot of things in Jerryland are unorthadox, but I think Jerry is ready to acquire his pet project after having heart broken by the guy he shared the same Birthday... Jerry has sat back and watched, as "pet guys" like Vinny, Bledsoe and Brad Johnson drop games repeatedly with his Supremely talented roster... how long will he wait?

The days of Jerry not having his guy on the QB depth Chart will soon be over and the question is how will Romo and (for the sake of this board) his feckless fans base handle a hand picked heir apparent?

Should make life at ESPN easier!

Romo supporter (hes a cowboy and he has shown flashes of greatness) but I think we need to draft a young qb and groom him.

The Cowboys should be looking at drafting a good young QB, not just a project. If Romo can't take it, then he is a bigger wuss then I thought he was. I could care less what the Romosexuals or Homo for Romo crowd think.

I'd like to see us take a chance on late Day 2 QB, assuming one is there. It should be a big, prototype QB (not because of Roethlesberger) like Tom Brandstater from Fresno State, Hunter Caldwell from Louisville, or Chase Holbrook from New Mexico State. They are going to get time to develop behind Romo and Kitna and could turn into a valuable trade commodity (Matt Schaub, Matt Cassell) down the road.
I like this idea, even though I haven't been keeping up with college/the draft and I honestly don't know any of those guys :p: But, the idea of it I like, as long as its a late round pick. Someone to groom behind Romo and for a little while Kitna, who could turn out to be good one day, and then maybe something will have happened to Romo and we now have a replacement, or we can cash in with by trading him for a high pick.

They should pick a QB regardless. If he takes over fine. If he turns into something then why can't we trade him and stock pile picks. If you draft him late enough and he turns into nothing it doesn't hurt you that bad.

Yikes, who would be stupid enough to try that.......oh yeah, Jerrah did that already.

I agree.

Actually, if there is some QB they like earlier (2nd / 3rd round), I'd be fine going that way too. Keep Kitna around for the first year and see if you think the rookie is ready to be the number 2 in his 2nd year.
