Will Romo's injury spare Garrett's job?

If Romo getting injured again sends the team into the wrong direction and we end up missing the playoffs. If Romo is unable to perform like himself because of the injury. Do you think that Jerry will use this as an excuse to keep Garrett around for another year?

IMO, Garrett has done nothing this year to lose his job, just the opposite...but, if Tony is out, then you get to see if this coaching staff is any good or not...I support Garrett at this point

One thing we've seen is that Garrett's players do not quit.

Garrett will get extended if we make the playoffs. I even think he gets extended jf we win 10 and miss the playoffs

At this point in the season, Its gonna take more then a couple starts from Weeden to miss the playoffs

If Romo is out for an extended time and JG wins the super bowl with a back up QB that nobody thought could be a top 5 QB, do you think he gets a long term extension?

It's just as likely a scenario as the one you proposed and it is what I would rather see if Romo can't play

Garrett doesn't need some uncontrollable circumstance to "spare him his job". We're still 6-2 and 1st in the division. There's no reason to believe that our season is going to suddenly spiral out of control because Romo might miss 1 or 2 games.

Thanks for answering every one. I know that Romo isn't going to be out for a long period of time. I ask because even of Romo comes back I don't know if the injury will effect his play like it did in the 49er's game. I'm not a doctor so I don't know if it would.

I hope that Romo does come back and plays like he did during our 6 game winning streak!

If by chance the Cowboys miss the playoffs, something BTW to be a very remote chance, then I think JG is done. 4 1/2 years and no playoffs is long enough -- whatever the excuse.

The Packers made the playoffs on the back of wins by their 4th QB (Flynn) last year.

Why? Coaching staff / system / philosophy.

Yeah. I was going to ask if Romo being out hurt his Coach of the Year talk, so we're thinking along the same lines.

I'm just gonna enjoy the season. This Cards game is one I think we ought to lose if Weeden plays, btw. And it won't be the end of the world if that happens today.

Unless Romo returns and they lose out. That's the only way I see a change.
