Will the real pass rushing defensive end please stand up?

At first glance he looks slow off the snap but he has had some snaps where he has gotten off pretty quickly so the ability is there. It looks like sometimes he's thinking too much and that should improve with repetitions. I've watched a couple plays including the Eagles game where he was a tick late for a sack. On several plays in the Eagles game they either double teamed him, chipped him, or bootlegged away from him so they were giving him some respect.

Surprising for a rookie to get that kind of respect, but that just speaks to how little they think of the other three when he is in the game.

One thing I think has gotten lost in the constant rotation is the mixture of the linemen in the game at any given time. Has he got enough reps with the right other three to make the best of what he offers? I also admit I have not seen much of him on the left side, or maybe I have not been paying attention. If he is at right end, with Crawford at RDT, then it is probably a case of the OL sliding protection right, giggling to themselves as they handle Hayden and especially with Selvie on the left.

I think if they just want to get to the QB more than they have so far, if they play with more heart, if they use their toughness and grit and gumption and moxy, they'll start racking up sacks at a tremendous rate. If that doesn't happen, well, then we know that attitude is the problem with this group.

Heart doesn't triumph over talent. Only one who has the chance to take their game to another level is Lawerence. And that probably won't happen until next season. He's still learning the NFL game.

Pretty much. Max effort is good for the short term but eventually teams are going to exploit the qualities that are talent driven.

Even one solid pass rusher would make a huge difference. We have eight or so try hard players.

To my point.

Poor to average QBs. We should play man, press at the line. Take away their bread and butter zone. That may give time for our guys "to get there"

I doubt the Cowboys will play straight man coverage through out the game given the fact that McCoy is the main key, easier to defend the run when DB do not have their backs turned from the line of scrimmage. I do think in situation where you are looking at 2nd and long or 3rd and long to go man coverage and bring the blitz.

Not every time. But mix it up. If they know every time they drop back it will be zone. That's dumb.

Let them drop back thinking it's zone, then when they see man coverage, they hold on to ball a ilittle longer. Defense gets there.

This can work at least 2-3 times per game. Why not atleast find out?

I am pretty positive they have tried to mix it up. Nobody plays exclusively zone or man all of the time. It is about situational playcalling, when and how you mix it up.

I agree, I think it is important to give the QB different looks, showing blitz and dropping out of it or bring it. Give different looks in the secondary. Outside of that it comes down to the basics and that is players making the plays. When the WR makes a catch they need to stop the YAC, make philly work for every yard

Easy to say give "different looks" when you have limited players that cannot execute the plays enough to make the opponent respect that look.

It would be like showing a read option package with Romo. Nobody would respect that.

It is easy to give up as well. I tend to see this attitude where people say why bother trying. Dallas has had games where defense has gone out and carried out their assignments they hustled to the ball and made the plays.

Pretty positive? So they have? Or you are not sure? Just curious?

I think if we mix it up and are less predictable ... We can stupify Sanchez into making big mistakes.
