Probably not but I think those three will be in the playoff mix into the last week of the season.
The NFC West is 1 team and that's it(cardinals, 49ers? pick one).

NFC North -1 for sure(Vikings). The Packers need to get some defense and offensive line protection. The Bears just don't have enough. So 1 definite and maybe 2.

NFC South - 1 for sure(Saints), Falcons maybe

NFC East - 2 for sure IMO out of Cowboys, Giants, Eagles.

To me you have these teams fighting for the 6 playoff spots:
Saints
Vikings,
NFC West division champ
Cowboys
Giants
Eagles
Packers
Falcons

If we can end up beating both Atl and GB, that will be HUGE to get into the playoffs because all three teams will end up with similar records.

Only two. The division is too tough, so teams will beat each other. Atlanta and New Orleans basically have 4 wins gift wrapped within their own division.

Not so sure about that Carolina is still capable as proven yesterday.

Carolina won that game because Warner decided to play pitch and catch with their DBs.

Yet Carolina played decent @ ATL.

They could win at home.

OK you could say that about a lot of games. Carolina capitalized on Cards mistakes. Carolina is capable of beating NO and ATL.

NO. The giants arent good!!! They beat all terrible teams, and barely beat us when we did everything we could to hand them a blowout.

I would not be shocked if they go 8 and 8

my bold preseason prediction was that the NYG would NOT make the playoffs. After a 5-0 start I thought I was completely wrong...now it is liking like I could be correct. To answer you question, I will say NO, 3 teams will not make it to the playoffs from the NFCE.

Only one team is going from the West (almost certainly Arizona, though San Francisco could make a run at them)

The Saints are going to win the South, and Atlanta is the only other team with real playoff chances in that division

The Vikings are going to win the North, and the Packers and Bears have a chance to make the playoffs (Though the Bears chances look far worse than the Packers)

The East is wide open, with three teams competing for the division crown. Washington isnt going anywhere.

So essentially, there are 6 teams who could potentially fill the 2 wildcard spots (Dallas, Philly, New York, Green Bay, Chicago, and Atlanta). One team has to win the east, so we are left with the two remaining teams plus GB, Chi and Atlanta to fill the wild card spots. Like I said earlier, Chicago doesnt look like they have what it takes, at least not right now. Right now, I think the 3 NFC East teams are 3, 4 and 5 in the conference behind NO and Minny. If the rigor of beating up on each other isnt too much, yes, I could easily see 3 NFC East teams making it in.

It was bound to happen, given the perennial tough nature of the NFC east.

Our main competition for the WC spots will be Atlanta and Green Bay. That is why is was very, very, very beneficial to us that Atlanta lost tonight and Green Bay lost yesterday.

It's week 8. We still haven't even played half of our season yet. GB and Atl losing helps, but I dont think anything is very, very, very, beneficial to us right now.

I see what you say, but there's so much football left.

I hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

If we win the division, great!!!! However, we cannot plan on that happenning. We must plan on how to make the playoffs without winning the division and who our main competitiors will be for those 2 playoff spots.

Yes there is alot of football to be played, but every loss helps tremendously even at this point. Look at it this way, we lost to the Rams last year around the mid season point and everybody said "it is just one game, a lot of the season is still left". We missed the playoffs by 1/2 game. If we would have beat the 2-14 Rams at the mid season point last year, we would have made the playoffs. That is how important every single freaking game is in the NFL.

So yes, losses by our two main competitors this weekend are very, very beneficial to us because we need all the wiggle room we can get. We have only 1 win in the history of the franchise in Lambeau, so you marking that game as a W??? I certaninly am not, like I said I hope for the best and plan for the worst. Thus, how can we beat out Green Bay for a WC spot if we lose to them???..............Answer is we get some help from other teams. (See Minny beating Green Bay and Saints beating Falcons).

It's still early, but I think the Vikings and Saints are locks.

I don't see the Packers competing for a WC. Look at their wins. The bears at home, which is nice but remember they lost Urlacher in that game and Cutler handed them 4 INTs. The other 3 wins came against the Lions, Rams and Browns. They had no chance in two games against the Vikings. And they can't protect their vastly overrated QB.
The Bears will have a hard time due to their key injuries. Although they beat the Steelers. If I had to choose any other team from the North, I'd go with the Bears here. They have no gimmies in November, but if they stay in touch, the games against Lions and Rams could be a huge advantage in the end.

The Falcons will be a major contender for a WC. The H2H win could be huge for us.
Obviously there won't be a team from the West in the hunt.

So, yes, the East could end up with 3 playoff teams.

If Green Bay doesn't start protecting Aaron Rogers better, they are going to drop a few more games. Their OL is AWFUL!

I think is very possible that 3 teams in the east could make post season.
