Will TO become a Commander?

If I were a Commander fan, the possbilty of TO to Washington would be intriguing. Right now I think Washington is the best team in the Division where all three teams (excluding ther sliding Eagles) are not that far apart.

The Skins have a solid vetran QB and RB. What hinders their offense is that they're not as multi-dimensional in their passing offense; meaning that if S.Moss does not come up with the big play they're hard-pressed to have another WR come up with one.

While the same can be argued for Dallas - that they're sitting pretty at QB and RB, we at least also have options to spread the ball around to recievers (provided we have an OL that can take care of itsrlf and not tie-up our TEs for blocking support). Therefore it can be argued that the Skins have more of a need for TO than we do.

So, Does Danny-boy pull the TO-trigger? You have to admit, given all the "TO to Dallas" talk, I'm sure Sneyder's nervous about that and would like nothing more than to pull the TO-rug out from under us, while at the same time bringing in a top-noth receiver to D.C. to soludify his offense.

Any tohughts?

I was just thinking about that yesterday, the Commanders need another receiver in the worst way, and TO is the best option out there of veterans available, and the draft class for WRs is weak, not to mention that taking WRs in the draft isn't a sure thing, and as the norm, takes a few years before they start really producing, and the Skins may feel that they can't wait and need to make a run now

as far as we know, Snyder hasn't changed in the least bit, he loves big-name players

so yeah, I wouldn't be suprised to see the Skins make a run at him

I think that the deadskins are much better with their RB situation right now. Not to say that won't change with a better oline, but right now, you can't compare the two.

wow, do you ever have anything positive to say about the Cowboys? I mean, you could have given your opinion to what the dude posted, but you had to nitpick his article to take another shot at the boys, and which had nothing to do with the question posed

Okay for me it doesn't matter if TO goes to Washington or not, because if we're going to be a Super Bowl team, we need to beat teams with great players as well as the sorry teams.

I guess I'm still sad about how the deadskins are doing everything they're doing, and we're sitting at home doing nothing scrambling around trying to find our identity. I just hope Parcells wakes up and get this line going, and be ready for teams like the skins, whether we get TO or not, we need to be ready to play. And I'm sorry if I seem negative.

ahhh cap hell.

The infamous myth of the Washington Commanders.

No, I doubt they'll even be interested in bringing him in.

Yep, no such thing for them, it's only a reality for the 31 other teams.

TO did quite a good job in Philthy of ruining their season; why not the same for the foreskins? I mean with Portis and Taylor there already, he should be able to recruit some assistants pretty easily.

they are eating 9 mil this year for the Coles contract. That will be 100% off the books next season.

We've heard since 99 that the Skins are a year or two away from Cap Hell. When it happens, wake me up.

Myth? I've seen you guys dump several players the last few years because of their salaries in order to get under the cap. The only reason no one paid much attention to it was that you all had losing seasons and those guys were high money FA's for the most part who didn't work out.

The cap is a real situation to deal with. Now that you all are in the playoffs, it may be more noticeable when you have to slash a couple of players in order to become compliant.

Big salary guys who underperform are cut from team who have fine cap situations too. The only guy who I can think of who was cut, and still had a yearof value left was Stephen Davis....who thought he could get 12 mil on the open market. Settled for like 3mil from Carolina, and gave them 1 great year.

so, again. Wake me up when it happens.

They just dumped Pierce and Smoot last year. There have been other times they've gotten rid of guys I'm sure they would've liked to have kept but couldn't.

Of course I know in the last 5-6 years, it was easy dumping guys with large salaries who weren't that good because you had alot of them and the team wasn't good. Now, it may be a little more tricky. You all have a playoff team and when it comes time to get rid of some players to get under the cap it may hurt a little more, whereas in the past it didn't make much difference.

Well, those guys were free agents.

I thought we were talking about cutting guys.

Seems they did just find with the guys they plugged in there.

We'll see if we go the San Fran route.
