Will tracking chips in shoulder pads tell us about Romo's health

I've seen articles that the players have had motion trackers placed inside their shoulder pads and TV had access to the data. My question is can these measure how fast a players' arm is moving? I'd wonder if Romos arm speed can be tracked and compared to last year?

Does anyone know what these chips may eventually tell us aside from just how Chip Kelly is using them for his lab.

Fair question and interesting but I"m not sure if it's arm speed. I saw a guy in a minor league game this year who was 5'8" and was about 150 dripping wet . He was rail thin and the gun had him at 97 mph.

I think it's a complex combination of neuromuscular fast twitch fibers along with genetics and training. A motion tracker could tell you Tony's arm speed, I don't know that it would correlate to his arm strength. Correlation is not causation.

a shoulder pad can not track the speed of his arm. it can, however, measure the intensity of a collision.

meanwhile, your eyes can tell you that romo was way off.

Ball speed and arm speed could be determined with video analysis software.

Tony has always had zip, but never really had the heavy speed like Favre or whoever. Measuring the quickness of his release would be more important, because that's what he has always done welll.

Is Chip creating a bionic offense...I guess some think he has one already, though Foles had a bad 1st half yesterday, Chip must have turned the power on in the 2nd half...LOL
