Will Ware have a sack this game?

It's been, what, 4 or 5 games now? Sorry but that's pathetic.

And before you go flapping your gums about "he's only a rookie", "he's learning a new position", "he's getting more attention" blah blah blah, I KNOW all that. It's still pathetic. I'm not expecting 20 sacks a year from the guy, but going 4 or 5 games w/o no sack is pretty bad.

Hope he turns it loose on sunday. Hope he uses more of these "moves" that Zimmer was talking about in training camp instead of just speed rushing every single time.

I think Ware is overmatched rushing against NFL OLTs at this stage of his career. He has some tools but absolutely no effective moves and plays under way too much control in obvious passing downs.

He will hopefully improve next year with some work on his technique and strength. I think fans got too excited because of BP's hyperbole - he has clearly been a project and has learned to play OLB adequately this year.

I doubt he gets a sack on Sunday.

The pass rush overall has been dying over the past few weeks. I think we have had to be more passive with the loss of Henry. I also think Glover has lost a lot of the starch in his legs during the season and is showing clear signs of the end coming close. Ellis has been our best pass rusher this season. Hopefully Canty is coming on though - he was a best in the Broncos game.

I don't care if he gets a sack. As long as he gets his 3 or 4 normal pressures per game.

I've also been a little disappointed with Ware not getting a sack in a while. But I have noticed Greg Ellis getting sacks a lot lately. I think teams have shifted their focus to Ware and opened up Ellis. If so, I'm cool with that.
I've also noticed Ware playing the run very well, getting pressures, and forcing plays and QBs into other rushers.
Overall, I'm actually very happy with his play. Who'd expect a rookie to step in and be a very solid DE/LB. IMO, he's not playing like a rookie and that only makes me think of how much better he will get. Sure, I'd love to see 10-12 sacks a year. But the fact that he's not rushing the passer on every play like some of the more hyped DEs should also play into expectations. I think he'll get there though.

I too think it's sad that he can't get to the QB with any consistency.

Something I've been thinking about lately. BPs teams in the past have always started out slow and turned it on down the stretch.....since he's been here it seems like we start out very good to fair and fade down the stretch....thought that was weird.

I expected our pass rush to kind of level out late in the year with all the young guys we have. The longer season is probably starting to wear on these guys(Ware, Canty, and Spears).

He pressures the QB and that means nearly as much as a sack. He reminds me of Charles Haley when he first arrived in Dallas. Haley wouldn't get a lot of sacks but he got a lot of hurries and forced many bad throws. The sacks came later when he had a better supporting cast. He is not like Ekuban that gets stuffed who isn't anywhere close to the QB. Ware's presence is being felt.

He has been very close to getting sacks in the past couple of weeks. No excuse, QB's are just avoiding him and stepping into other people for sacks. Again, coordinators have to game plan for Ware, getting sacks or not. If they don't he will get to the QB.

Dadgummit....Ware's a 1st Rd draft coice......he's a bust....He should have 25 sacks by now.

Getting close to the QB and causing him to hurry his throws......Close, not good enough, "close" only counts in the game of Horseshoes.

Well he's learning a new position.......If he hasn't learned the position after 11 games he must be a complete idiot.

coordinators have to game plan for him........That's a real tuffy....assign someone to step in front of him.

We need to trade this "bust"......maybe we can get a 7th rd pick for him.

It's not unusual for a pass-rushing linebacker to go several games without a sack. Joey Porter went six straight games without a sack last year, and he still went to the Pro Bowl. He went five straight games without a sack in 2003. Peter Boulware went five straight without a sack in 2002 and six straight in 2003, and he went to the Pro Bowl both years. Even this year, Terrell Suggs has gone the past four games without a sack (and has only half a sack in the past six games), and Julius Peppers started the year without a sack in the first five games. Both of those guys went to the Pro Bowl last year. And almost any pass-rusher you look at has occasional sackless streaks of three or four games.

Sacks arent everything. Teams are keying on Ware and he's still getting a lot of pressure. Plus he is allowing Ellis to have his best year ever, along with Glover having a good year. Ware has been really good against the run lately as well so its not like he hasnt done anything the past few games it just doesnt show up in the statbox for the guys who only check stats.

But Rack who has a sack in like the last four games straight? The DE on the other side, Greg Ellis. Teams have been rolling protection to his side, just record the game and watch all passing situations. They will have a RB or a TE chip Ware or help out the OT. Ware getting DTeamed allows Ellis to get to the QB,

Ware has like 12 pressures TOTAL for the season.

I should of known better. Ware is one of those "Off limits" players. Can't criticize him under any circumstances.

Again >>>

I didn't call him a bust, wasted pick, useless, etc... Or ANYTHING like that. I asked a simple question. If you people have trouble with that, don't bother replying.

I'm going to say yes, he will. Rather than throw the ball away quickly, Manning will move around in the pocket and try to buy time, so that might give Ware an extra second to get to him.

And Luke "French for false start" Pettigout isn't the greatest player, either.
