Will we see Stanback on O vs. Giants?

Will I. Stanback be put in as a WR on Monday at all (assuming no new injuries force it)? Is WR a position where you might rotate in a backup to have fresh legs towards the end of the game? Would he be of value for a "trick play" or even as a decoy (as we used to use Deion sometimes on O)?

I think if we even go 4 wide tomorrow we'll probably line up a TE as the 4th WR

I don't know that he will see any playing time on offense yet but you never know. He looked pretty good in pre-season but that was late in games usually. It really depends on how much trust Garrett has in his grasp of the playbook.

I could see him come in as a decoy on a fake end-around this week. I would like to see him get some "slash" opportunities where he can throw the ball on an end-around but that probably won't happen for a couple more weeks. No point in showing all our cards in week-1.

Austin never played last year as the 5th wr. So probably not. But if we needed someone to go run a fly pattern I am sure he could. It would be Austin first tho.

Austin also plays a lot on STs so he is likely to be active instead of Stanback so I agree with you, it is unlikely that he will see any time on offense this week.

Right now I'd think the Cowboys just want to see a lot of TO, Crayton & Hurd but do expect Austin to get some time as well. We really need to see what they can do over a period of a few games. Doubtful we see much of Stanbach cause he's a real developmental although he could be brought in for special plays designed specifically for him. Of course we'll see a lot of Witten & Fasano as Garrett will use every weapon he has to offset the loss of Glenn and utilize any talents our newbies show on the field. Who knows, maybe Hurd or Austin is our Marquis Colston.

If i was Garrett, he'd be running straight and far every time he sees the field.

The first time we see him touch the ball on offense, he'll be running a reverse. Maybe the first two or three times, in fact.

And it won't be this week.

Stanback will probably be inactive until he takes someone's return job.

No. Stanback is for next year. I don't expect him to get on the field this year. And I'm cool with that.

Unlikely to see any action without further injuries to our WRs. Now they might want to slip him into a few games with a few carefully selected plays in mind. But no way is he going to be active and steadily playing- way too much to learn.

I think he will play this year -- but not until week 8 or so - I think the goal is going to be for him to have a set of about 5-6 pass plays down with a couple of trick plays (reverses, him lined up at RB) worked in.

i would see him as one of the inactive guys until he can become proficient at returning punts. isee no reason why if he was ctive they couldnt put him in for 5 plays or so and run WR screens, a reverse, or routes that he does know a couple of times.

The man makes plays.

Was it educan also that stated Stanback only run's in the 4.58 range?

why then even bother with a reverse......:p: Icebergs will melt before he turns the corner...........heck even Grampa Strahan can run that down from behind............
