anyone of you who wanted Parcells gone now wish he stayed one more year and that JG could have learned from Parcells for a year and would also be an OC?

I either wish he left right after the season so we would have a shot at Whisenhunt/Grimm Combo or stayed until next year when Cowher, Fisher and Lovie Smith are available.

I wish he'd stayed 1 year less and we had Payton as HC.

I doubt if Fisher will be available anytime soon. I am sure Tennesse is going to sign him for a new long term deal
I like Cowher but he would be probably getting 8-10 mil a year to be a head coach next year. Is he worth that much?

I'll miss all the "man boobs" jokes, but having a lame duck coach for one year smells of mutiny by the players!

I hear what you are saying and I would have liked BP to stay and finish this thing out with a SB.... under that conclusion only... being that you cant have that kind of stipulation... I am glad he is gone... he took us as far as he could... this team has some REAL PLAYERS now... now we need someone to finish the job..

Seeing how Payton did on his own and seeing that Fassel and Parcells CLEARLY held him back... I dont think enough could be gained in 1 year under Parcells that would probably be a tradeoff to another 9-7 season with one and done in playoffs at best... not to mention the December skids

I am thinking the same YoMick.
He is probably around a lot of good coaches he learned what he could have. There would some bumps in his first year and you would rather that he goes through them now than a year later

Why would I want Jeff Fisher or Bill Cowher when I can have Gary Gibbs?

What will be funny is when Joe Gibbs retires next year, the Commanders will get Fisher and we'll have Gary Gibbs.

Tough question for me. I know it seems his time has come because you can't tell me that 53 guys start to suck all at the same time. Gotta believe that the one constant is responsible. I do wish he could of left on a higher note for his years of service to us and the NFL. Tough to see a "tough" coach wobble away from the game he loved. It was his life. Lost a family over it.
I guess I'm wondering if he now thinks it was all worth it. What a way to go.

That doesnt mean a thing has LESS to work with in Wash than in Tenn. I dont get the love for Fisher and Cowher... and I am trying to "get it"

Well, be fair to them. You're comparing them to the accomplishments Jason Garrett and Gary Gibbs. No one could stand up to that kind of comparison. Give'em a fair shake at least.

I wish he would have stayed another year simply for the fact that he had this team on the brink, and now I think we will have to wait 2 more years to get to the Super Bowl with new systems and running things differently now.

I don't like changing coaches to begin with...I think next year could be very tough

I am gonna disagree... whereas I would tend to agree with you if the circumstances were different...

this team was held back IMO
this team had the wrong schemes...

the above 2 problems can probably be fixed rather quickly..

I would not want Parcells around to spread his funk and repression on Garrett.

Unless BP was a lame duck coach mentoring Garrett. With BP still hanging around the ranch...who knows ;)

I wish he'd never been hired in the first place. This team should've been gutted and rebuilt in 2003 not patched together to win at all costs- we didn't win anything with him or without him. But he was better than Campo!!!!

If Parcells did not have the energy to go another year why would I want him to come back?

Parcells did the right thing and stepped down.

As an NFL fan, I am impressed. He has two rings, took two different teams to the Super Bowl, and three different teams to the conference championship game.

As a Dallas Cowboys fan, I'm not impressed so much.

He built the roster way up from what it was when he got here, but I can't say much more than that.

No playoff wins
No NFC East titles
34-32
One 10 win season
December collapses

Like Bill said, "You are what you are."

I like him, I wanted him here, but noone can honestly say he won much here.

It was time to go, ... but I would like for him to stay and help Jerry as long as he wants to.
