Wish we were good at Cover 2

This game begs for us to play Cover 2. Mo and Carr playing zone in the flats to take away the swing passes and screens to Sproles/Matthews. Wilcox and Church keeping plays in front of them and coming up to hit Philly's receivers like Wilcox did OGB. Lee and Hitch dropping into underneath zones and undercutting Bradrford's throws to WR or covering TE's up the field. I think this would neutralize what Philly does best, which is get the RBs and WRs in the flats. Problem is, Mo is a terrible Cover 2 corner, and our S's lack range. Playing press man, which is our CBs' strength, leaves Lee, Hitch and the S's to cover the RBs and TE's in the flats. Not ideal.

Our best game vs Philly in their house was in '13. We played man most of the game and shut that offense down.

I just hope to see more pressure from our rushmen. I sure hate to see Gregory injured but someone needs to step up. That means you DeMarcus Lawrence. As usual turnovers will be the deciding factor. Hopefully we'll see a DeMarco Murray fumble, as we did so many times last year, and Bradford throws a interception or two.

On the flip side, Chipster likes his QB to get the ball out quickly which is hard against good man coverage.

We have the LB's that can cover their RB's . I expect Lee and Hitchens to dominate. The suprise in this game ? We'll play a ton of nickle with Byron jones on the TE...watch !

I think Foles not being able to throw against a 35MPH wind had more to do with that than our CBs. But I agree, our CBs play better man than zone.

Most Cover 2 defenses, especially the Tampa 2, require the corners to play press and funnel the receiver to the inside. There are also Cover 3 defenses where the corners will press. Just because it is a zone doesn't mean the corners don't press. They aren't mutually exclusive.
