With 50,000 Posts You Get An Announcement

Well, eventually you knew I was going to blabbermouth my way to 50,000 posts and I finally did it. Hard to believe. Well, maybe not.

I want to begin by thanking all of the members here. I thoroughly enjoy all of you and your opinions. I'm crazy about the Dallas Cowboys and talking about them is a great hobby for a football junkie like me. Well, I decided recently to do something about this hobby and decided to write a book about the Dallas Cowboys from a fan's perspective. I've had other stuff I've written get published, but never a book. So this is new to me.

The immediate problem was what to call it? Well, I simply couldn't come up with a better title than what has become my catch phrase. The book is going to be called...

Embrace The Hatred: A Fan's Guide To The Dallas Cowboys​

I am hoping to have a lot about the History of the team, some smack talk directed at those who hate the Cowboys, and just some general reasons as to why the Cowboys are worth loving...and hating.

I have been working on this for several weeks and have a big chunk of it written. I still need to find a publisher. I'd like to get this done by the time the season opens.

I did buy the URL embracethehatred.com and I hope to have a static shot of the book cover when I get one chosen, then once it is for sale there will be more to the site. I still can't decide what to do as a cover, but will hopefully make up my mind very soon.

My hope of course is that if any of you buy the book you will enjoy it. If you don't, at least it could line your bird cages or wrap some fish.

I've been inspired by a lot of people on this forum. I've learned more stuff about the Cowboys than I ever imagined was possible. To that end I've decided that the book will be dedicated to this forum and the members here. All of you.

Thanks for everything and I'm sorry that you now have to see my post total climb above 50k. I can't help it, you're all so damned much fun to rap with.

Congratulations on the big milestone. The other day I saw a truck with a license plate holder that said embrace the hatred and can't help but think it's yours. The book is a great idea, being a fan to a team that has such polarized opinions about it is strange. When wearing a jersey I've had people refuse to serve me because of it, and had other times when the first round was free.

Book sounds like a great idea. One thing you might want to consider is independant publishing.

With the way companies like Lulu (lulu.com) can publish books on demand, there's no reason a book can't be published on your own terms. I've used them a few times for small projects.

The only thing you'd be missing out on is advertising or marketing from the publishers, and they rarely do that stuff anymore unless you're already big time.

Congratulations on reaching such a milestone - probably on the same scale of Emmitt's record or some other extremely difficult record to reach.

Wow Hos congrats on the book and the posts. I gotta say I feel as though you are the engine that drives this forum.That's not to take away from all the others that do a superb job around here. I know for sure I pay attention to your posts more than most.
My dog Ottis says that's like 350,000 posts in dog posts.He's pretty smart and let's face it, he can do things most of us simply cannot do. Most of us.

For the cover picture, you HAVE to use the picture of Daniel Snyder yelling from his owner's box that someone here is using for their sig. It would be perfect.

Regarding the book itself ... if you're not able to find a publisher, a lot of people are having success selling e-books online. It's a thought.
