should we be looking at possibly using a roster spot on a legitimate blocking TE at this time? When is Hanna due back?

Even a blocking TE who gives nothing in the pass game would likely improve our run game in a big way. Those type guys are usually available, right?

I think when Hanna gets back we will get a boost in the running game and also he is a legitimate pass catching option.

Well considering that Witten has been a lot bigger problem blocking then the 2nd TE I don't think there will be a whole lot of change.

I can promise you that James Hanna will not be the reason why the team wins or loses any games.

The biggest boost for the team and both sides of the ball will be when Tony returns. Take nothing away from Dak.
But...
The passing game will get more respect with Tony in there [unless Dak starts hitting those long pass plays and TD's on a regular basis].
With Tony the defense will have to game plan differently, not load 8 or 9 in the box. So this opens up the running game, which will open up the entire playbook too. As I still believe they are holding things back right now.
In turn, we get the TD's, therefore if we get a lead, the other teams offense becomes one dimensional. So a rested defense can then pin their ears back and get after the QB. Yes they can do this. I know there will be whines of no pass rush. But with a lead, they can have one.
