Lot of depth on our d-line now and if Tank comes back there is no need for 3 NTs. Think BP would bring Ferguson in?

It's odd that he's so good rushing the passer, but struggles against the run given his size. So I would imagine that Wade sees a guy with a lot of potential who could be an all around 3-4 DE/NT.

I've been thinking we'd package some combo of first round picks, Bobby Carpenter, and/or Ferg for the #1 pick.

If anyone is traded, maybe it would be Spears. I don't know.
That would give us:
Canty / Bowen at RDE
Tank / Fergy at NT
Ratliff / Hatcher at LDE
Not bad.
EDIT: Ratliff will be a dominant 3-4 DE. He's very good at NT, but he'll be even better at DE, IMO.
AsthmaField;1852727 said:I agree with you on Bowen, but I can't see us keeping 7 guys on the DL. Perhaps they would get rid of Fergy, but I think they want to see Fergy and Tank at NT and Ratliff at DE... mainly because of Ratliff, IMO. I think Phillips really thinks Rat can be a gamebreaker at DE and wants him there.
That means that Fergy stays, and we have 5 DE's for 2 spots. Someone will likely go.
IMO, if Parcells wants Spears as a starting piece for his 3-4 in Miami, then we trade him there. Either flat out or as part of a trade up in April.
Spears cost/performance ratio is out of line for everyone else on the DL (except maybe Fergy) so it would be to our benefit to keep Bowen and trade Spears.
However, having said all of that... if Phillips thinks Spears is doing very well, he might just ship out Bowen and keep the rest.
BP will draft Glenn Dorsey out of LSU and would have no need to trade for Fergy.Cowboy from New York;1852682 said:Lot of depth on our d-line now and if Tank comes back there is no need for 3 NTs. Think BP would bring Ferguson in?
Hos, you really think Glenn can play NT in a 3-4 ?Hostile;1853096 said:BP will draft Glenn Dorsey out of LSU and would have no need to trade for Fergy.
I think he'll be a star in it. They could always grab Chris Long of Virginia though who I think is perfect for the 3-4.JPM;1853192 said:Hos, you really think Glenn can play NT in a 3-4 ?
That's actually who I see the Dolphins targeting. Trade down a couple spots and take Long. He's the son of a former player and played for a coach under Bill, that's got Parcell's MO written all over it.Hostile;1853228 said:I think he'll be a star in it.
