Adams practiced today, I guess that's a good sign. On the flip side TG goes out with swelling in the knee. Burnett got waylayed in the head, he's day to day. No major injuries to this point which is a good sign.

Well, no Mickey... that isn't a good sign... it merely isn't a bad one. :)

Well played.

I love how junior's entire argument here is that we don't know the future.

Adams is back. Your point?

Colombo will be back soon, according to the reports. While its not great that he is missing time, its nothing I would be too overly concerned about. Would I worry if, say, Chris Samuels missed time or Jon Jansen for you guys? Not really.

Then why are you so concerned about Stanback? We drafted him to develop. And by all intents and purposes, he is behind Hurd on the depth chart anyway. Him missing time only hurts his chances at developing faster. I doubt he'd have much of an impact anyway this year because he is not going to beat out Crayton.

All that was just a response to a participation comment. DallasEast said that participation is a sign of a good camp, but I just pointed out, you aren't having a great rate of participation.

Ahhhh.....finally to the point where I was wondering if you were going to mention. If Wade's ship is so loose, why did guys like Bradie James, Bobby Carpenter, Demarcus Ware, Roy Williams, Akin Ayodele, Marcus Spears, Canty, etc go above and beyond to lose weight?

I never said that Wade's ship was loose. I said it was in comparison to Parcells, which works for some people. It doesn't work for others. Some guys are best motivated by encouraging, some others by criticism. Just because he runs a different style camp means he runs a better camp.

LOL... now I'll picture that dude everytime I see Firehawk350 post. I coulda done without that.

Basically, that's what it boils down to... he saying that we can't tell the future. That present performance doesn't mean future performance in game situations.

No Chit - Really?

More like:

CowboysFan1: Here is another report on the day. Sounds good, again.
CBF#2: Yep. Sounds like training camp is going well thus far.

White Noise: It doesn't mean anything. It can't predict the future!

CBFan#1: Yeah, thanks for stating the obvious. We are talking about training camp though; not the upcoming season.

White Noise: But....but....but.....no future! It doesnt mean the future is good! Random Wade Phillips/Parcells comparison.

Me: Start. Quit Life.

Reading Comprehension 101.

If you want, I can hit the highlights of it for you. You need to look no further than the opening lines about people whining about Aikman being critical to get the gist of the post.

Oh, and some people are jealous. Ask me if a give a flying crap.
I can't figure out if he realizes now that what I said was true, he can't find the thread, or he's afraid to look for fear I will once again be right.

Well it's definitely not a good sign. I never said the camp was going bad, but the only thing you said that can be verified is false. You aren't getting max participation, you have 40% of your starting OL out.
It only a bad sign IF they can't play in the regular season. Next...
firehawk350;1569053 said:
Who said that the fourth WR is scaring anybody? He's doing well in camps. I remember a player by the name of Taylor Jacobs who did well in all the Skins' camps. He sucked at gametime. Just because he had a good week of practice doesn't mean much. Burnett is hurt, so what, it's just a response to your "everyone's participating" idiocy.
Well, we only talk of Stanback's potential was a wide receiver or kick returner. We can better evaluate his potential after he has recovered more from his shin ailments. YOU placing more of a premium on his participation in camp than which is necessary.

Who the hell cares about Taylor Jacobs??? This isn't Extremeskins.com.

You're stuck on a percentage of players participating when you could (if you wished) focus on the actual participation of actual players. The overall number of players participating will not make the first week of camp any less successful.
firehawk350;1569053 said:
I know about Terry Glenn's health. He went out with for a practice or two and now he's back in. Whopee...
I'm only trying to help you. He's a solid #2 starting wide receiver. His loss would have had a greater impact than that of the starting tackles who are going to return anyway, plus your assertion of the fourth round draftee and Burnett.
firehawk350;1569053 said:
Yes, I understand Parcells ran a much tighter, more disciplined camp. Phillips runs a much looser. You are assuming that Phillips has the better way. I'm not assuming anything. If he comes out and leads the cowboys to a hot start, then it works best for the Cowboys. That's fine, but we just don't know yet.
No, you don't know squat about working environments.

Who knows how well they will play this season? This is about how well the coaches and players will interact in Phillips' training camp. There isn't any reason to believe that an openingly friendly working environment will not have positive results during camp. But keep slinging crap against that wall, okay?

Let me take a look at BigDFan5's reply, I never saw it as I'm having to talk to 5 of you guys at once.
That's a sorry excuse. You ran faster than Forrest Gump.

Yep. I used to always correct my wife with that... we'd be arguing and she'd say it and I'd say, "how much less can you care?"

Needless to say... I don't do that anymore.:shoot4:

You mean, like I pointed it out to you here:

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1568944&postcount=46

You're something else, aintcha?

he only sees what he wants. He's been proven wrong several times after making a stupid statement then he just ignores the fact somebody was right.

In the Rock Cartwright cheap shotting Mcbriar thread he said "it's literally impossible for him to cheap shot McBriar because he doesn't cover punts" Theogt posted a video of said incident and Firehawk pulls a disappearing act. I guess "literally impossible" doesn't mean it can't happen... did I miss a memo or something?

In the NFL's hardest hitters thread he said "Do the research, Springs typically plays well against TO." BigD does the research and pulls up 3 or 4 games over their career where TO scored a TD while being covered by Springs, after failing to realize Bid D had posted several games and not only one he again hides in the shadows after telling us that the research doesn't matter because it was only a select number of plays..... ok, but wasn't he the one who just told us to do research? When we find something that goes against his argument it doesn't count I guess.

You can slap this guy with logic and common sense all day, it's still never going to work when he just refuses to use the gray matter in his skull.

Would have been too many "again's".

But yes - and it wasn't a video I don't think - just the game play by play.

Firehawk has served up comedic gold since he's started here. If we could go back through his homerific Commanders evaluations from last offseason, it would be great. Which is why it's hilarious that he is warning us about tempering our enthusiasm (on our own board) and alerting us to possible crow-eating. That boy's been downing crow for a solid year - or he ducks it, and we just let him slide. :)
