Terry Glenn and Anthony Henry we played the best team in football very well today with an opportunity to win. However without a deep threat and our most physical corner, our offense was limited and our defense never really had a chance against that explosive offense.
Positives:
-Tony Romo managed the game well, and bounced back. That was the most important thing to me, that he overcame adversity and spread the ball around well.
-Julius Jones finally showed up.
-Marion Barber gave this team a spark, and fired us up when it seemed it was going to be a route.
-T.O. held on to the ball, made a play, and didn't do anything to draw attention to himself.
-Marcus Spears made a couple plays.
-Tyson Thompson broke a pretty big one when we needed a spark.
-Offensive Line protected very well considering the talent in NE's front 7.
-We played very well against the best team in football, can't win them all.
Negatives:
-Our secondary is still very vulnerable when put in space.
-Tony Romo's arm strength is a question, I'm thinking he may be banged up a bit.
-Nate Jones shouldn't be asked to cover guys one on one, depth at CB needs to be addressed at season's end.
-Gotta for it on 4th down, if you fail they've gotta drive 95 yards. Haven't stopped them all day, what makes you think an exhausted defense was going to be able to slow them down.
-Interior pass rush, I know the 3-4 isn't designed for guys in the middle to rush the QB - but Tank Johnson should remedy this problem come week 9. New England did a great job sliding guys for extra protection, if we aren't coming off the edge we aren't going to get pressure.
-The media, this entire week - made this out to be a super bowl preview. Hopefully our guys can bounce back, and keep Adrian Peterson contained next week.
Fellas we're 5-1 and we just lost to easily the best and most talented team in football. If you told me back in August we'd be 5-1 at this point, and I'd be thrilled. Sky isn't falling, things only get better from here. With Terry Glenn, Anthony Henry, and Tank Johnson on the field - we'll beat them in February.
