I know he's a extremely good player and has great potential as we have already seen. But, yes there is a but. This year he's playing outside of his usual self. He's dropped quite a few balls and when he does catch one he seems to completely stop in his tracks. Like he's thinking to much.

What do you guys think?

Well, I know plenty of people that I have worked with, start slacking on their work, going to sleep at work, or not being able to concentrate at work for one common reason.

They all have a newborn.

This is his job also. Relax, he will be fine.

Like everyone on our offense else he just needs to get in a rythme. I think he'll be fine. I mean it has only been 3 games.

I agree he is distracted by a busy homefront, he's a human being, married and now a daddy. Stresful stuff, sleepless nights it adds up especially on an athlete's body. He'll recover or at least cope, he'll have to because it will be a goo 18 months to two years before that baby relents in it's absolute dependence stage. He's in covenant with his wife and under contract with the Cowboys. She comes first, Dallas pays the bills.

No offense, but I think you're thinking too little.

No apologies here, but he hasn't played poorly.
While he has dropped two very catchable balls, he has also made several very important drive saving grabs. He has also made completions out of some poorly thrown balls from Bledstud. His TD/Off pass interference in JAX was questionable. If he hadn't been called for that, would you still have started this thread? Just curious.

BTW, not sure if you've noticed, but his blocking has been much better so far this year.

No kidding. We all know that type of contact happens nearly every play, and it is technically PI, but why did it have to be that one? Bastids!

Its a conspiracy against us. Where is the justice, lol.

I was pissed at that call the next day after it happened, but I had forgotten about it, thanks for reminding me............;)

It has to be our destiny to win tomorrow cause of that, right?? LOL

Jeez, we are getting a little nuclear aren't we. Not that many passes have come Witten's way to begin with. He has been an above average pro-bowling tight end. In the back of my head I wonder if his new deal might be making him a little complacent, but I really don't think so.

It has only been 3 games into the season. Several more games of the dropsies and then I will start worrying right along with you.

Witten has not performed as expected, however, some of his production will automatically go to Owens.......

And this is his first.

I agree that it's temporary. His whole routine, his sleep time, even the things he thinks about, have been turned upside down the past couple of weeks. It's something you have to go through to appreciate.

Ummm he has only been thrown to nine times and scored twice. He is a major part of keeping Bledsoe upright. Parcells told every one very publicly that our TEs would be blockers.

Other than a couple untimely drops I think Witten has done everything that has been asked. Up to this point he hasn't had to be the focal point of the passing game.

Wrong. He's been thrown to 17 times, caught 9, and hasn't scored at all. Parcells commented that Witten's been dropping balls, and that Parcells didn't expect it to continue.

You are correct. My mistake. I still think he's doing what is asked (blocking) and is doing fine.
