If we had scored there, we would have given Det. the ball back with good field position and they probably would have killed the clock and kicked the FG. Of course, I can't believe we let them convert a 3rd and 9 from their own 1 yard line. Visions of the end of the Seattle game last year. But at least this time we stopped them later in the drive with enough time left to win it.....

Well, they had 2 possessions to score at least a FG at the end, and they couldn't get past their own 40. The defense was stepping up at that point, so I'm not sure they would have scored, regardless.

No doubt, if Witten doesn't fumble, they stand a great chance of losing.

Great post: I told my friend that right after the game. I wasn't down on Witten: he's been super man this season. He made a mistake: then quickly atoned for it. But you're right on: he scores there, Detroit gets the ball and scores a field goal or tD to win it, rest assured because our defense was LOST today.

Witten was all over this. He had such a good game, and he is a genius. He was obviously just looking ahead and doing what was best for the team. lol

But to be honest, although we didnt score, I wasn't super depressed that we didnt score because I knew we had them pinned.

Right.

Perhaps this should be incorporated into the team's strategy in the future.

I was thinking the same thing...No Witten fumble,we lose! But then again,as I have stated in the past, how many times in the last ten years have we been in the same situation we were in today.....Only to find a way to lose?
This team is different....Enjoy the ride!!!

not to mention wasting all the timeouts and leaving only 19s at the end.

It was only fitting that Witten got the game winner he played a whale of a game.

Because we got the ball back, the fumble didn't help us. However, I see the logic and thought the same thought after Witten fumbled. I was terrified that we would not get the ball back though. We should have won by 8.

No way. YOU CAN"T fumble inside 10 yard line. That is at least three points off the board. I am glad D finally stepped up and stop the next drive. However, if Lions had just scored a FG the next drive, the game would have been over (9 points lead).

Moreover, we also needed some lucy break on our winning TD drive. If the lions DL simple fell on the fumble, all of you would sing the different tone.

Yep... as soon as it was confirmed to be a fumble... I said.... this is probably gonna be a good thing...... flashes of Seattle otherwise

I dont think fumbling at the one yardline ever helps. Maybe it worked out that way but I'm pretty sure we aren't going to be practicing it.

Their attack changed when they had to battle out of their own endzone. That went in our favor I believe.

wittens fumble was forced.

I don;t get why romo is getting no hate for almost signlly handlingin losing the game.. he got bailed out by koiser.. but it was a stupid move by romo to turn over the ball

Huh? You mean the play where the defender knocked Romo's arm, causing the fumble?

What are you talking about? When he fumbled from being hit? It happens. Romo didn't almost single handedly lose the game. He almost single handedly won it, though (with a little help from his friends of course).
