Great education our institutions of "higher learning" are giving out isn't it?

Pitiful.

I know. It's why I think these 'student' athletes shoud be paid. Obviously the degree isn't worth the paper its printed on. When the student is used based on what he can provide for the school athletically, you would think money is the least they could do.

This just proves to me that a good or bad score does not correlate to what the success of the player may have on the football field

Wonderlic is an intelligence test.

You don't have to be a rocket science to play football so it probably makes little difference for most positions in football. It probably matters most for QB, Center and FS. The ability of a Wonderlic above 25 to have any major impact on a player's grade even at these positinos is probably not very high. I think the whole purpose is to screen for those with major learning disabilities that may impair performance in the NFL.

the scores today are not as accurate as theyn used to be because agents teach players the test thus they score higher.some one should have told vy this.i think it does mater for a qb but you have to compare scores form that period not 10-15 yrs later like marino's. compare dan to scores at the time and i bet he was atleast average

you are interpreting the test incorrectly if you are saying someone who has a 30 is smarter than someone who gets a 29. this is a gross measure - it is decent for making distinctions between scores that are say -- 7 or 8 points different. and as others point out it is just one measure of intelligence.

QC scored well on his Wonderlic -- and he had the tools to be an NFL qb. he however lacked the emotional maturity to handle competition and was unable to avoid drugs. Neither of those aspects are what the Wonderlic measures.

a) I was adding on to your point - not arguing with you.

b) If you think you've won any arguments wiht me then you should hang out with Vince Young since he's clearly at about your mental skill level.
