Worst Case Scenario

12. Mesidoor
20. CJ Allen

This honestly would not surprise if we get wiped early but man this would be tough to swallow. This would be the definition of reaching for need and I am not a fan of old prospects with injury history.

What do you think?
they are slightly over drafted. yes. but still talented enough to make this defense better. we sucked last year. so anything with a little bit of talent helps.

and you don't go from 6th worst all time defense to good in one off season, specially when we spent less in FA than last year.

The Cowboys need to stay away from any player with a history of serious injury.

Every season we see players dropping like flies during the preseason. They don't need to compound that situation by drafting potential injury prone players.

It seems very rare that the Cowboys draft a player with a serious injury and that player has no further issues.

Jaylon Smith, Damone Clark, Shavon Revel, Leighton Vander Esch.....the Cowboys can't risk a 1st round pick on someone who can't fully recover or rapidly deteriorates in a matter of a few seasons.
And yet whoever they pick will get injured at some point just like Parsons and Diggs.

If we are “wiped out” at 12 and cannot trade down i would go

12: Thienemann/Mccoy
20: McDonald/Faulk

Much better IMO than Mesidor and Allen

You have to get your first injury before experiencing multiple ones. Does anyone have statistics on the frequency of injuries to a player after their first major injury?

My brain is at capacity, so I am involuntarily beginning to eject information to make room for the more trivial. So perhaps I remembered incorrectly but i thought that the chance of sustaining a serious injury increases with the frequency.
