Would anyone be opposed to bring Norv back?

As head coach? I think the impact that he had on Aikman and what he's doing with Alex Smith would work with Romo. Unfortunately, he has a rep of being too much a nice guy. Only in sports is that a bad thing.

at the very least he might breathe some life back into the running game... can you imagine Barber as an every down back... WOW... But anyway, I don't think this is happening.

Like I said in another thread, I wouldn't fling myself off a bridge if it happened. I think there are better choices out there, but I do think Norv gets a bad rap for being saddled with some crappy teams and not being given a lot of time to turn them around.

Being too nice is always a bad thing, from a managerial perspective. From all reports, Norv has a doormat personality, and that allows the team to walk all over you. I just don't think Norv is HC material, and I think Norv probably realizes that, too.

No thanks, OC yes but certainly no to Head Coach.

I want to bring in one of the top Def Coord with the idea that he will be the replacement for BP when he leaves, if that is possible.

I don't know the contract status of Rivera and the Ryan's but they would be my first choices.

I can imagine Barber as an every down back. It is not that great. I like Barber and what he brings to Dallas. He fits his role very well and is very deserving of more touches, but I just don't see him as an every down back. Niether Cowboys' back is a true every down back. Dallas needs both and like Parcells said, it really could use a 3rd back. If TT doesn't break his ankle, he would have gotten more carries during the season. If Dallas wants an every down back, then they will have to go find one. Right now, Julius is the closest one to being an every down type back and he really isn't one, either.

He has been a failure everywhere that he has been as a HC. So hey why not bring the guy in, how bad could it be? I DON"T THINK SO :bang2:

As an OC he was great! Would I take a chance as an OC....sure!

Yes please bring in Norv as a HC.

All kidding aside, I dont think either RB really fits the mold of RB that Norv needs. So therefore someone else would have to be brought into the mix.

You have the WRs, the TEs, the QB (maybe), just not the OL or RB.

Probably is a nice guy.

But his reigns in Oakland and then Washington were terrible. And maybe some other place as HC I have forgotten.

But with Jerra, you never know. :)

Hmm...

Maybe John Madden...

3 SBs under Davis.

Gruden...not one of them.

My opinion aside, I would bet that he's on Jerry's short list if Bill decides to step down. I don't see it as a great fit, but I could live with the decision.

After seeing how much he helped Alex Smith I wouldn't mind to see him as OC but not HC.

I Would Luv For Him To Come Back And Be The Oc ...no Doubt About It......

Agreed. I think we can be a better offense. PLUS... he will get another shot at OC'ing another Michael Irvin type. He knows what to do.
