Would really suck if the Skins or Giants go to the Super Bowl

I was late getting to work today, and I was watching ESPN. I noticed that the analyst were both picking the Giants and Skins to win their first game of the playoffs.

Realistically, I think both teams have a shot to go to the Super Bowl. In that fluke game against the Seahawks, the Giants' kicker missed about 50 gizzillion field goals.

Man, it would really suck to see the Giants or Skins go to the Super Bowl, of which I think the Giants have the best shot.

Thoughts?

Living in Virginia the Giants really don't bother me, of the three NFC east teams, I don't know any of their fans personally so I would not have to hear about it.

The Skins would be terrible, worse than the Eagles last year IMO.

I am rooting for Carolina or Seattle though and I think Seattle will take it. They have the best Oline, RB and the best QB in the NFC playoffs.

Washington, if they were at home would have a good chance, but they cannot have a home game throughout the playoffs so they have a large uphill battle.

Yeah, I just think one of those teams will eventually go pretty far in the Playoffs.

And believe me, it is not lost on me that their Coaches havent been at their current jobs too long...

If they go to the Super Bowl and lose, that's a good thing given the past history of the Super Bowl losers. In fact, I'd rather see them go to the Super Bowl and get killed than see them just make the playoffs. Hurts draft status even more, too.

Still though, I think the only team in the playoffs that would be extremely disappointed in not winning the Super Bowl is the Colts and maybe the Patriots.

I think everyone else, especially the Giants and Skins would be disappointed in the fact they didnt win it, but I think they wouldnt beat themselves up too much for it as they are extreme underdogs.

Man, I really think the Giants have a good shot to go....:

You know to be honest I just never have felt one tenth of the disgust for the Giants as I have for the Eagles, Skins, 49ers or Steelers.

I don't know what it is, just never had much disgust or hatred for them.

So It would not bother me much if the giants won.

Just think, we could have a Steelers vs. Skins Super Bowl- How's that for you? Be afraid, be very afraid. As much as I don't want the Steelers to get the thumb ring I'd have to wave a terrible towel that day.

Agree, except I would add the Steelers to the same list as the Giants. Growing up it was always the Skins, Eagles and 49ers that were Dallas' major rivals. I don't remember much about the rivalry with the Steelers since I was born in '72.

Guess im different.

I cant stand the Giants or Skins.

Trust me, "IF" they win a Super Bowl this year, their fanbase will start to become very annoying....rings tend to have that effect on people.

I'm with ya on that. I guess they've never had any players that i really hated.

The Giants main weakness IMO is Eli. And yes, I do believe he is a true weakness.

The Skins main problem is that they are going to be on the road.

There really is not a lot that seperates the NFC teams IMO, but I rank their SB chances in the following order.

Seattle,NY,Carolina, Chicago,Tampa and the Skins.

Seattle an NY have the 2 best running games IMO and Carolina has the experience.

If Eli plays well the Giants are the team to beat though. With Eli effective they have the best overall weapons considering having Strahan and Osi on defense.

Sadly, the G'ints and Skones have as good a chance as anyone. With the possible exception of the Seahags, the NFC teams are very close in quality. Gibbs' playoff experience is a plus, obviously. Fortunately, Holmgren has a bit of that experience as well.

I think Seattle has the best chance since they've got homefield. IMO, all the teams are pretty equal and it wouldn't shock me one bit if the Skins or Giants made it.

Exactamundo!

Those are the only four teams I have ever hated.

I know the Giants hate us, but I've never considered them more than a divisional foe. I guess it's because most years that we were down, especially in the 80's, I would always pull for the Giants against the Commanders and Eagles in the divsion.

Wouldn't bother me. Winning the SuperBowl usually means contract demands and a lack of focus for the next season, unless your New England.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing one of the teams from the East win it. Historically speaking, we have ties to NY that go back to the very start of our franchise. Washington I don't hate either. I respect that team as well. Philly I just wish would win one so there not such an imbarresment.
