Would the coaching staff have the cajones to bench Romo?

To bench Romo is he was struggling?

Let's say Romo is ready by Philly and he's given the starting job. He plays poorly and we lose that game. Then let's say he plays really poorly in Cleveland but we squeak out a win. At that point we would be 5-3 (let's assume a loss to GB). Then he comes out and is bad against Pittsburgh and we get thumped and are at 5-4.

Would you expect the coaching staff to start thinking about making a change or would you think they are going hell or high water once they make the change back to Romo?

They'll have the cajones to put him back on the injury report.

If Tony isn't playing for a couple of games, I would think that would be one of the easiest benching decisions ever. Who know's though.

How did Dak do in the loss to GB under your scenario?

This is headed to the QB zone!

If the GM informs the coach that it's playoffs or unemployment, it's possible.

Absolutely Syd, even assuming a Dak loss at GB (I'm not, yet), I think if Romo comes back and only wins one in three, and that one was more by team effort than his effort, they have to go back to Dak.

But if Tony makes it through three games, he will have already found his stride (imo), and its highly unlikely he under performs.

His biggest obstacle is injury, but that wasn't the theme of your OP, so I digress :)

“We can’t control what’s going on outside this building. Everybody wants to talk. Everybody wants to do all that, say crazy stuff, but, you know, people need to understand those are people just talking,” Bryant said. “You’re not hearing that from Coach Garrett or Mr. Jones or people around this building. It does not matter.”
Sounds like internally the support for Tony is stronger than it is externally. If so, the book might not be so quick, after all.
