Would you be mad if Jerry drafted Manzeil?

I asked because I went over to the NFL.com website and noticed that Mike Mayock guess that the Cowboys would draft Manziel and after reading the post it would seem possible. He also said that if he had the choice, he would draft a DE.

I would be a little mad if that happened. We already have a good QB in Romo why drafted him? Yes he got so much potential and skills but look at the defense right now. It hard to ignore the fact that Jerry Jones has the final say so.

Well that good QB is 34 coming off his 2nd back surgery in a year. That's a pretty solid answer. If drafting Johnny it's not to start right away. It gives the team an insurance policy for the immediate future and a starter for the future.

As long as we don't give an arm and the leg to get him. We've been using the draft to 'plug holes' the past few drafts and we're still 8-8. We're far away from plugging one obvious hole, so although it'd be nice to get a nice defensive guy, if we draft Manziel, I wouldn't be mad.

If Donald is gone and Manziel sits at 16, they better draft him. I like Romo but it is better to be safe than sorry if he gets injured again.

Nope. Nothing wrong with setting up for the future. Manziel = excitement which in turn = non stop Cowboys coverage on every major network. Meh... why not?

If you look at this team and say at 16 we should take a quarterback and be happy.

You're an idiot.

Plain and simple.

Especially since he's basically the same player as the guy you probably spent the last 6+ years railing against.

All these teams really need a QB ahead of Dallas:

1. Houston Texans
2. St. Louis Rams (from Washington Commanders)
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
4. Cleveland Browns
5. Oakland Raiders
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
8. Minnesota Vikings
9. Buffalo Bills

Paying a boatload of money for Manziel after paying over $100M for Romo is something even Jerry is smart enough not to do - I think.

Money wouldn't be the issue with Manziel. Romo would be gone by the time he required an extension.

I'm not saying Manzeil would cost a lot, but the trades to do it would.

Again, it's a pipe dream. We can differ on which teams are very desperate for a QB, but it's clear too many are in queue ahead of Dallas.

Can you imagine Manzeil holding a clipboard for years? I can't.

Cleveland is the team I see trying the hardest to get him, although I hope Houston lands him.

We will know later today.

I'm pretty sure St. Louis doesn't need a QB they got Sam Bradford as QB.

While he was improved in his limited time for 2013, I'm not sure he's performed well enough when healthy that the Rams wouldn't upgrade him.

If he chose Manziel over Donald, Barr, Martin, Clinton-Dix or Shazier, I'd be mad.

If all those other players are gone at #16, and you can't find a trade down partner? Wouldn't bother me.

The Rams have the 2nd pick, which is from Washington.

Imagine if they can trade that pick for someone hot on Maziel.

That'd be ridiculous return on trading a single pick......not that it already isn't.

I would love it. It would mean that finally Romo gets some legitimate competition and may the best man win. My life is not that good though, we'll continue to plug away.

Gotta admit, I'd be disappointed if Dallas drafted Manziel. First off, our defense desperately needs help, first and foremost. If we were to take a foolish chance on Manziel and ignore our defensive deficiencies, it'd be a foolish mistake, plain and simple. There are more important things to consider right now without taking a chance on someone who might very well not pan out. I think it's likely he'll turn out to be a pale version of Michael Vick. He may very well be just as susceptible to injury and mistakes. No thanks, I'd pass.
