Would you be satisfied if Romo turned into another Danny White? A damn good QB that didn't get to the SB?

danny white was a top dallas qb in his time and an intense competitor. he got pulled and pushed aside and i'll forever remember when he got asked to go back in after being yanked earlier that season, he just put on his helmet and went to work.

which *danny white* do you wish to compare?

romo is *not* danny white. they both throw the ball and they both play for hte cowboys but they're both very different qb's. in time he'll be fine.

it's the team around him and the entire picture that will make the difference. it was never just "white" that was the problem in his tenure. it was a lot of things.

the real question is - will i be happy if we waste romo's potential and not get as far as we hope/dream?

football is a team sport and takes a lot to win it all.

i'll save useless comparisions for another day.

I'd take a Danny White. He was one of my favorites.

Turning water into wine would impress me. Or parting the Trinity River.

much more rain and they're going to have to lower lake lewisville. from what i understand, that flows into the trinity.

not sure if it would "hurt" anything but the trinity could use a good enema.

A playoff win? We pretty much gave away a road playoff game in Seattle.
In my mind that was enough of a win for me. I dont think we would've done anything past Seattle anyway. Now that we have the experience from last year we can go far.

People underestimate the job Dallas did in that Seattle game. One of the toughest places to play in the NFL, we went in there and gave them more then they could handle.

I dont get why people think you have to win a playoff game before you can have super bowl aspirations. But whatever:star:

Being satisfied with Romo's performance and being satisfied with not winning a SB are two different things.

Heck, i wasn't satisfied when Danny White didn't get us to the Super Bowl, why would I think that would be ok for Romo.

We are the Dallas *&(*&*^&(*_)( Cowboys as Bill Parcells put it.

We've played in 20% of the Super Bowls.

It is our House no matter where we play.

We are America's team.

Nothing less than Glory and Championships will do.

What are the alternatives? It's easy to say that I want a Superbowl or nothing, but I've had a decade of nothing and would like to come back down to earth long enough to ask for a simple playoff victory first.

Just quickly thinking about the NFC, I believe the only team that has posted a goose-egg in the playoffs for the last decade besides the Cowboys has been the Lions. That's pretty sucky company.

I would love Romo to surpass White, reach that hallowed status that we all crave and become spoiled again like I was with Staubach and Aikman under center. But, if my choice is to take another decade like this last one or go to three straight NFC championship games and at least be a viable contender in January, well, sign me up for the Danny White bandwagon.

it's not exactely a "good" comparison. but what else do we have to do?

in the end romo will be romo. not white, not aikman, not peuller, and not even the original mr moxie - stoerner.

but at least we're comparing our qb's to qb's now - not baseball players.

Romo must take us to the Superbowl!

Accepting failure is a losers mentality and why should we, since the players and organization doesn't accept this attitude?

I would not be "satisfied" if we did not win a Superbowl but I would be proud to have a QB as good as Danny White was quarterbacking our team again. Danny White was not the "failure" that many here like to portray him as but things did not go his way in the biggest games for whatever reason.

So in short; I would be satisfied with his talent if he is as good as Danny White was but not with the results if he doesn't win a Superbowl.
