The interceptions are on the idiotic QBs he has had (namely Kitna and O'Sullivan). Once Shaun Hill came in, they declined markedly.

He throws the ball a lot, so that leads to more sacks, but he always has a good passing attack, regardless of whether or not he even has NFL-caliber talent.

When a duo of Shaun Hill/J.T. O'Sullivan throws for 3700+ yards on 7.3 yards/attempt, the offensive coordinator is doing something right.

Yeah and the result of releasing 5 routes on every play will result in sacks and interceptions due to the opposing defense bringing relentless pressure.

He may get 7.3YPA, but when you get sacked 6 times and throw 3 interceptions, 7.3 isnt going to get you a win.

That's so far off it doesn't even work as hyperbole. Martz usually keeps at least one guy back to block (this year it was Vernon Davis) these days.

The interceptions were the result of boneheaded throws. It had nothing to do with Martz's playcalling and everything to do with Kitna and O'Sullivan being interception-prone quarterbacks. Note how Shaun Hill did not run into the same problems. Gee, I wonder.

Is Jason Garrett's system to blame for Tony's interceptions?

In 9 games, Shaun Hill was sacked 23 times.

Drew Brees, averaged 40 pass attempts per game and was sacked 13 times the entire season.

Yes, but the Saints always allow among the fewest sacks in the NFL because they take so many short drops and their passing game revolves around dink and dunk throws.

In fact, I think the Saints this year may have had the lowest sack percentage in NFL history.

Exactly.

The Martz offense sends every one downfield and gets a QB killed.

Unless you have Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, and Kurt Warner, playing on turf, his offense will not win you many ball games.

No they don't. One year when Mark Rypien was the Commanders QB he was sacked 9 times.

One year Marino, who threw a lot, was sacked 4 times.

I'd choose TO, the guy most likely headed to the HOF. He's in great shape and I think he can still be a dominant force in this league. JG? He is obviously learning on the job and I have no desire to sit through another year of his play-calling.

Last year, I wanted both. This year, I don't believe either is irreplaceable.

It will win you more ball games than most offenses in the league.

The Saints only won one more game than the 49ers this year.

its not going to happen. Jerry the egomaniac is going to ride this sinking ship right to the bottom of the ocean.

that is why I believe the coaching changes that are happening are going to be based around players like that particular loudmouth and appeasing them.

Jerry is not going to budge on his personell here. He will find coaches desperate for jobs who will work to accomodate the players.

Just like the head coach here now. Wade would have agreed to anything and seemingly did to have this job.

But hey he is from texas and we got alot of sacks.

Yeah, Jason Garrett is a real treat. Fans were treated to a pure shotgun offense that gets Felix Jones 0 touches in a game and either a draw play or quick throw to the slot receiver on 3rd and 1. An offense with zero decoy routes or anything that actually shows intuitive play design...but hey, they do run end-arounds to Owens every now and then!

What a sweet, delicious offense.

Well, Garrett is gone now so you can lower your blood pressure. Now, I guess we get to see what iMouth does with his next coordinator.

So, how much does iMouth pay you anyway?

I'd choose Garrett in a heartbeat. If we focus more on running the ball, we do not need two number one's on the outside. Not to mention TO is 35.

Garrett will be a great HC in this league.

How about neither. TO stays because there is financial implications with him. But agree that you really don't want to invest too much in a 35 year old player.

Wow. Another TO thread. This really is turning into the TO Zone. He would be proud that we're so into having him as the topic of discussion in practically very thread.
