....knowing you could have gotton 2 firsts and a third for Cutler if we traded him away again ?

Wouldn't you have made the deal ? I am not sure if i myself would have done that. But then we have Kitna as a fallback solution so i think the risk is not that imense. So we were in a possible position to do that kind of trade.

What do you all think ?

And i am just guessing here. I know this would have been more then unlikely because of the contract we gave to Romo. I am just interessted in some opinions here of how valueable you all think Romo or Cutler (or a QB in common with this kind of ability) is.

IMO 2 1sts and a third is way overpaid for Cutler or any QB except maybe the really great ones. But no team would trade a really great QB like for instance Montana or whoever you like as a great QB.

No, but I would have traded Romo for Cutler, then Cutler for Cassel, than Cassel for Tavaris Jackson, Kyle Orton, 3 fourth round draft picks and a plate of nachos.

I love Romo but I would trade him today for 2 first round picks plus a 3rd.

I would not have taken Cutler for him but I woulda made the move as a 3-teamer than started Kitna this year if had to.

The only caveat here is cap cost. But if I could get back cap money then I am all for it because I could go get a few more legit players signed long term and won with my running game and defense.

AND I'd have a bounty of draft picks to work with.

I would trade my sainted mother off for 2 first round draft picks. :lmao:

If we were a team that was rebuilding and Romo didn't have any talent around him, then yes I would have been fine with trading him and getting a bunch of picks in return. With the way the team is set up now, absolutely not.

I wouldn't trade Romo for anyone or anything. Probabilities tells me that we stand a very slim chance of getting equal return or better - even with two firsts and a third.

Sure, the possibility exists that we'll nab two Ware's and another Witten in those rounds. But the more likely possibility is that we grab a couple Spears's and an Al Johnson or so.

And there is no QB out there who gives us a better return, with age and ability factored in, than Romo.

I would have to give it some more consideration if we were rebuilding, but for the most part I agree with your post.

No.

Romo is our guy.

I wouldn't trade him for anyone or anything.

I'd rather lose with Romo (not that that is the case) than win with some other teams guy.

Because a lot of these guys probably didn't start watching the Cowboys again until we brought in Owens.

They didn't watch when we were stuck in 5-11.
