Would you take a 1st and 4th for Romo

This thread epitomizes the homer intellect that manifests in a ridiculous premise such as a team actually offering a 1st round pick for a 36 year old QB with a bone broken in his back.

Then, if for some reason the Vikings decided to make a move even more confounding than the Herschel Walker trade by going after Romo, the idea you trade away a commodity that might perhaps prove to produce a dividend still, with all the things fighting against him, and then scuttle this season, may be just the outer limits of laughable.

I have yet to decide if this team needs to come to grips with the idea Romo is done and just move on to Dak and see what he truly has. or to hold out hope that half way through the season Dak can produce at least a 500 record and Romo come in and stay healthy and get this team to the play-offs.

Most like what will happen is Dak will play and be about 2-4 or 3-5 when Romo gets back, who pretty quickly is hurt again and this season produces the draft slotting to go get stud defenders.

But in no opium dream is there any possibility the Vikings would trade for Romo.

How many first rounders have been given for a 36 year-old QB with multiple, lingering back injuries in recorded history?

Like it or not, Romo's like that old beater car that you have that is more than capable of getting the job done from point A to point B, but you hope the transmission doesn't go out on it once you hit the freeway. He's worth much more to us than the open market.

Couldn't agree more.

If the Vikings offered a #1 and #4 for an aging, beat up Tony Romo who may miss half the season or more with with a broken bone in his back then I would be convinced the ghost of Mike Lynn made that deal.

I don't think any of us think that someone would offer a first...but if you asked me yesterday, I'd say no way anyone offers a first for Bradford...

Based on Romo's actual play, he's easily worth that.
Based on Romo's age, injury history, and him also being currently out several games, Dallas would not get that offer.

BTW, I doubt Dallas wouldn't accept it anyway. Right or wrong.
He's worth way more to Dallas than he is to other teams. He's also the main mentor for Dak. Just ask Dak.

Now if Dak is great in real games for a half season, that story changes.

Part of why Minny offered so much for Bradford is they think they have a Super Bowl team this year and next. Bradford is available immediately and I guess they value him highly (ya think).
The hypothetical on Romo doesn't apply because he won't even be available until mid season.
Guy wouldn't have even been able to practice.
It's all moot anyway, because unless Dallas' season is already over by mid-season, Romo is their starter down the stretch this year.
