Would you take a 1st and 4th for Romo

If any team was that hot for Romo, they would likely be a contender needing that missing piece like the Broncos felt they needed. The Viking and Jets felt the same way. And for Romo, would give him a chance to get a ring as I do not think he will get one here.

Our team is still missing some key D players to make a run and an additional 1st and 4th would help that; however, if Dak isn't the real deal, we would probably have to use one or both of those 1sts on a QB. But we would be younger and have a solid offense around him.

There's no way any team would trade for him at his age and recent injury history but I have little doubt he would be better appreciated by another fanbase than one that has had this bizarre love/hate relationship with him.

I've never been a Lover or Rooter and have seen the features and flaws to his game but the man has been the most unfairly treated player by the media and many fans of any I can recall. But, the groundwork was laid when so many could only talk about the negatives about Danny White and let's not forget a group of fans that drove Meredith to an early retirement. There is no more entitled group of fans than Cowboys fans. That is a generalization but far too many are that way and I've known some for a long time.

Nah, I'd want to see if the game has left Romo before dumping him. If he could stay healthy on the Vikes they might actually do something.
Age, fragile skeleton and chokeritis all say yes to a trade.
As to his psyche, 40 million will provide salve to Romo's soul. And for the average Cowboys fan preparing his bologna sandwich for work, it will provide hope for a better football future.

Not to hijack the thread but (while we are being ridiculous with scenarios) let's say Dak plays great and starts 8 games; Romo comes back and plays great, finishes strong(not even a hint of injury), and wins the super bowl. Romo states he wants to retire after the 2018 season as a Cowboy.

Some other team sees Dak as a franchise guy and offers a 1st and 4th for him. Do you do it?

Hypothetically, if you know Dak's a franchise guy, too, that's when you move Romo. Assuming you can handle the contractual implications. Realistically, that can happen at the end of next season.

It's a pretty good situation to be in.

yes. I'm a huge Romo fan, always will be, but for a first rounder, it's really a no brainer. if I thought the supporting cast was capable of a deep playoff run I wouldn't, but considering the shape of the defense, yea, I would.
There's also something to be said about letting the guy get a chance to win. It's pretty bittersweet seeing ware holding up the Lombardi in an orange uniform but I bet he thanks god everyday he was released by Dallas.

There's our own home grown ignorance but we've added some sort of migrant rejects from another board that just aggravate the issue.
Not some sort of migrant rejects, refugees seeking asylum and we brought a whole new kind of ignorance to share because we heard the ignorance level here was a little too low and needed some jacking up. We even unlearned some things on the boat ride over.

And I'd watch that migrant talk, one of ours has a Cesar Chavez poster on his bedroom wall and will stop eating if you're mean to us.

Thanks for the warm welcome, they selected the right poster to be the Welcome Wagon Master.

Id hate to be a fan like you.
Being a fan means wanting better days. But you in your own way too are a good fan. You obviously appreciate all the Romo-led playoff wins, Super Bowl wins with Romo and all the uncertainty of relying on a fragile and now aged QB.
With any luck, Dak will get us closer there, and, if not, then a QB in the draft for the future.

We seem to be 2 DEs and 1 QB away from having a great team. Romo is no longer our best option, reliabilit-wise.
Don't judge me, judge the decade-long Romo experiment.

I'll judge both and pick the experiment every time.

Romo would be a legend in Detroit for example . Their greatest QB of all time. 4 playoff appearances and a couple of playoff wins would be the best decade for Lions in Super Bowl era.

So you guys are agreeing that Romo is valued the same as Sam bradford

Got it

Carry on

He's one of the top five quarterbacks of recent time. He's also at the very end of his career in terms of his age and health. On top of that he has a very bad contract. So no...he doesn't have much worth, despite having had a very fine career.

Hell i'd do it for the 4th rounder and i'd throw in Devin Streets..... Wait. Hmm

Seriously i dont think there is one team willing to pay a first rounder for him. So i would do that deal in a heartbeat.

I'd do it for a second rounder.

Blimey! Well by all means then. Let us continue the Romo experiment come Tuesday. For the next five years if necessary, sayeth Sir Jerry and Bonny Prince Stephen.
Steady, lads.
By the way, oh worries -- where is that Tony Romo?
I hope he is not late to practice on Tuesday, matey...
