Give me Vea
Give me Vea
He's a bad fit in a 3-4. We knew that when he first signed with Dallas. For the folks that would take him back, obviously didn't see him play last year in Washington.
Collins isn't a good 1T though...He's one of the guys they lost that they missed. But I would not take him back now. I think they can use more push in the middle and McClain gave them some of that, but he is injured and a year older so I would not give away cap room for him.
I may be crazy but I think they have a decent tackle rotation now. If a stud tackles falls to them, then take him, but if not I don;t think it would be a catastrophe. I am hoping this is the year Collins breaks out.
Which rotations do you like exactly, out of curiosity? He's one of the guys they lost that they missed. But I would not take him back now. I think they can use more push in the middle and McClain gave them some of that, but he is injured and a year older so I would not give away cap room for him.

He was a 1T and NT, none of those guy's will get many sacks. He got more pressure than most. His 6.5 sacks in 74 career games points to JaG to me. Or maybe its his 75 career tackles.
Thornton has never been a 3T, he was a 5T end in the eagles 3-4 that had some experience playing 1T.The Thornton incident was just sad. We took a 3 tech and insisted on playing him at the one. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
The run defense was fine when Lee played.Collins isn't a good 1T though...
Run defense up the middle was terrible.
https://www.drafttek.com/2018-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round1b.aspWhen looking up at the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles (painful to see those 5 words together), one has to notice that they finished #1 in run defense, allowing only 80.8 yards per game. In comparison, your Dallas Cowboys finished #8, allowing 104.0 yards per game. This would appear to be a role reversal from 2016, where Dallas finished #1, allowing 83.7 yards per game and Philly finished middle of the pack, allowing 103.2 yards per game. However, further analysis reveals that in the last 3 games, Dallas only allowed 89.3 yard per game (Philly 89.7) which would seem to indicate how much the Cowboys missed Sean Lee.
The Commanders are reportedly considering cutting McClain, only one year after signing him away from the Cowboys in a free agent deal. Do you think it makes sense to bring McClain back to the Cowboys a depth/rotation player?
They aren't mutually exclusive. Draft Vea and sign McClain.
Commanders still owe McClain $4.6875 million guaranteed.
Hit the quote button on one, then simply scroll back up and hit the quote button on another.Im new to this forum. How did you double quote both ksk and I?
Would like to avoid taking up unnecessary space if I can prevent it.
Collins already broke out. He looked worse last year because we were playing him out of position. He's one of the guys they lost that they missed. But I would not take him back now. I think they can use more push in the middle and McClain gave them some of that, but he is injured and a year older so I would not give away cap room for him.
