Would you take Terrell McClain back?

He's one of the guys they lost that they missed. But I would not take him back now. I think they can use more push in the middle and McClain gave them some of that, but he is injured and a year older so I would not give away cap room for him.

I may be crazy but I think they have a decent tackle rotation now. If a stud tackles falls to them, then take him, but if not I don;t think it would be a catastrophe. I am hoping this is the year Collins breaks out.

Collins isn't a good 1T though...
Run defense up the middle was terrible.

Which rotations do you like exactly, out of curiosity?

His 6.5 sacks in 74 career games points to JaG to me. Or maybe its his 75 career tackles.
He was a 1T and NT, none of those guy's will get many sacks. He got more pressure than most.

The Thornton incident was just sad. We took a 3 tech and insisted on playing him at the one. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Thornton has never been a 3T, he was a 5T end in the eagles 3-4 that had some experience playing 1T.

The run defense was fine when Lee played.

#8 overall run defense, 2016 was #1 against the run.

When looking up at the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles (painful to see those 5 words together), one has to notice that they finished #1 in run defense, allowing only 80.8 yards per game. In comparison, your Dallas Cowboys finished #8, allowing 104.0 yards per game. This would appear to be a role reversal from 2016, where Dallas finished #1, allowing 83.7 yards per game and Philly finished middle of the pack, allowing 103.2 yards per game. However, further analysis reveals that in the last 3 games, Dallas only allowed 89.3 yard per game (Philly 89.7) which would seem to indicate how much the Cowboys missed Sean Lee.

The Commanders are reportedly considering cutting McClain, only one year after signing him away from the Cowboys in a free agent deal. Do you think it makes sense to bring McClain back to the Cowboys a depth/rotation player?

Of course we should. McClain was the leading tackler on the dline in 2016, by a wide margin. DT is a big need. Look at the nobodies we have on the roster at DT. He probably walks in as our best 1tech. Ash, Collins, Ross. Were any of them better at 1tech for us?

I see that Washington didn't even start him. Still had 17 tackles from DT. And two sacks. On only 30% of their snaps. That's looks pretty productive.

I haven't watched tape on him, but if he comes cheap (2mil or less), certainly.

Commanders still owe McClain $4.6875 million guaranteed.

Meaning this is likely just another baseless rumor.

On the bright side, if they do cut him, that means McClain plays for the vet minimum where ever he goes, and he'd probably like to go back the Cowboys. Plays well here again, gets one last chance at a chunk of signing bonus elsewhere.

Definitely not to be depended on as anything more than a rotational guy, but depending on his price and what other options are available through the draft and free agency, I wouldn't be opposed to him returning to Dallas.

Im new to this forum. How did you double quote both ksk and I?

Would like to avoid taking up unnecessary space if I can prevent it.

Collins already broke out. He looked worse last year because we were playing him out of position.
