Ed Reed All Pro safety, amazing ball hawk, 31 years old, at least 3-4 yrs left in tank. While I doubt Balt would deal him, maybe a #1 would be to enticing for them, maybe to expensive for us...Its absolutely mortgaging the future, selling out for the NOW....His 50-50 retire stuff may be real, you would have to clear that up....But would you???? Before everyone says not to dealing a #1, how bout we make it a future #1, or this years #27 overall.....Reed for a #1, going for it NOW????

Let the hammering begin....

You do realize he is thinking of retiring. I hope.

You'd trade a #1 for someone thinking that? Seriously?

Only one #1 pick?

Afterall, he's only thinking about retiring.

Have you heard about the retirement thing?

Can anyone answer me why some posters think throwing around a number 1 round pick is the trendy thing to do?

Glad you said it. :laugh2: I like Reed but no I would not give up a 1st rd pick for a player closer to the end of his career than the beinging of his career.

I think much of the retirement talk was frustration of the loss by the Ravens but I think given some time away Reed will return next season, still does not change the fact I would not give up a 1st for a guy who will be entering his 9th season next year

He will be 32 next year. I love the guy, but it's a little late to be giving up a #1 for him.

People never read the posts, the guy mentioned it.

Hpothetically its a great Q.

Id say no though. We can sign Nick Collins, but we almost have to build the OL through the draft

Madden and fantasy football. People have become convinced that one player here or there is all you need. They no longer look at the game as a team, but individuals with talent.

Oh I read it. I am still blinking my eyes that anyone would post that question. I'm not sure it is real. If it is, that's sad.

Great question? Holy air in the head Batman. Seriously?

hmmm, well thank you for the honest answer Hostile. I cannot fathom that type of thinking but now i see where they are pulling that crap from.

Another question "how has this worked out for the Skins?" You'd think fans would see the parallel thinking there.

I noted the retirement talk....I indicated that you would have to clear that up. If that was just talk after a tough loss fine, if it was real , you obviously you wouldnt do it.

But if he WANTED to play, and given who he is....just asking the question would he be worth it!!!

Hypothetically speaking.

Do you feel were 1 HOF safety away? Im saying no. We need a serious infusion of fresh blood on the OL more, and safeties can be had easier.

I could even see Ball as a starter

I can't believe you even have to ask.

Hell no.

Perhaps because we recently gave away a #1 pick (and others) for a WR who looks like he's also ready to retire?

Hypothetically speaking there aren't Safeties in the upcoming Draft we can take in the first round and get them cheaper and for longer?

We might even get one who is a ball hawk. To his level? No, but is he even at his level any more? It's worth a #1 for 1 year? Two? If he's contemplating retirement right now, do you honestly believe he's going to play 3 to 4 more years?

Come on.

Keep Blinking??? Why is it a bad question??? Obviously it would never happen, but you never know your options with draft picks and players. I guess if it he was a FA we would take a look??? People here get all bent on posts, I blink at that....
