Ed Reed All Pro safety, amazing ball hawk, 31 years old, at least 3-4 yrs left in tank. While I doubt Balt would deal him, maybe a #1 would be to enticing for them, maybe to expensive for us...Its absolutely mortgaging the future, selling out for the NOW....His 50-50 retire stuff may be real, you would have to clear that up....But would you???? Before everyone says not to dealing a #1, how bout we make it a future #1, or this years #27 overall.....Reed for a #1, going for it NOW????

Let the hammering begin....

absolutely positively not...he's got serious injury questions, which is why he is seriously considering retirement

you trade #1 picks for guys you expect to make an impact for several years, and he most likely wouldnt, if he made any impact

Reed was the safety Dallas passed over in favor of Roy can't cover Williams.

no, no no no no no no. he is not the final piece of hte puzzle. he has had injury issues and he is not going to make us any better. our problems are on the offensive side not the defensive side.

The OP made a huge blunder. He should have worded it "What would you trade for rights to Ed Reed considering his age and thoughts of retirement?"

Myself, I would say a 3rd on the chance retirement talks were due to the loss.

Hey check me out in the draft forum, I got us getting my sig and Iupati. I want some mean OL.

But our safeties have been a problem for years, and Ed Reed when healthy had us drooling. Its an interesting hypothetical.

But w/o the 1st for OL I still dont think that would put us over the top
Iupati will be a 1st rounder. I just hope he's there when we pick. The guy's is a beast, and would really help us out. I want Dez Bryant, but I know that won't happen, so I hope we are able to get Iupati. He's the one I want us to draft.

A 1st? That's kinda high.. maybe last year. This year with this team that MOST i'd give up is a 2nd and RW.. and he better be willing to play at least 3 more years!

These kind of posts drive me crazy

You can say this kind of garbage about every team in the league over players here and there...there are a whole bunch of guys on our roster right now that I bet teams wished they wouldnt have passed on. Its amazing how only dimwits in CZ dont see that, they only see the one's they wished we'd have gotten.

If everyone knew how a player would pan out 5 yrs down the road, there'd almost never be a draft bust would there? You draft players based on your ratings at the time, and at that time, NOBODY had Ed Reed rated ahead of Roy Williams.

If we can't get a left Tackle who can play right away I'd do it. the guy is a game changer.

Can Reed block a DE???

Then why are we even discussing this???

PS.......trading 1st rounders for guys in their 30s is epic fail!!!!

if you're looking for a FS, get Antoine Bethea from Indy.

People never read the posts, the guy mentioned it.

Hpothetically its a great Q.

Id say no though. We can sign Nick Collins, but we almost have to build the OL through the draft
Yeah but in the same post where acknowledges the retirement option may be real, he claims that he has 3-4 years left. Contradiction, no? In any event, it would be a crazy trade.

Exactly. I'm sure a number of teams who passed on Ware, would now love to have him (and I say that without even thinking about who was taken ahead of him.) What about Romo and Austin? Jenkins and Felix Jones?
