Pretty sure you can spike/throw the ball on the sidelines

Props to Miles for calling it out though

Pretty sure you can't do it in the face of an opposing player however.

The call was HORRENDOUS...Leftwhich got hit...the throw was into double coverage...the Bucs WR did not react as if the defense prevented him from making a play. That look like a call you make to keep to keep the game interesting.

We also got a way with a couple calls too. Both Spencer and Carpenter hit Leftwhich in his legs, they should have had PF's for those plays.

Every game I watched today/tonight I've thought the officiating was pathetic.

The officiating in the Bears game was also horrendous. The illegal contact call on Harris was an absolute joke. To top it off the Bears should have been called for an illegal formation.

Also I thought Urlacher should have been been called for at least unnecessary roughness on Cutler. Cutler did get the ball off, and Urlacher was within a step of the throw (barely), but that guy just launched himself into Cutler after he knew the ball was gone.

I couldn't believe we got away with both of those calls. You can bet that both players will find envelopes from the league in their lockers come Tuesday, though.

I'm suprised that Ronde Barber gets away with so much contact. It seems like he literally mugs his assignments every play.

No you can't. That is a delay of game penalty, and should have been called.

Actually, yes you can. It's delay of game if it happens on the field. Not on the sidelines.

That explains a lot of why the bears looked so bad. Urlacher was trying to sack his own QB!

What Sensenbaugh did was perfectly legal. Contact downfield by itself is not prohibited. Contact that impedes, or otherwise throws the receiver off of his route, however, is illegal. Sensenbaugh's contact did neither, and there should have been no flag. Just another bad call among many that the refs across the league made, and will continue to make.

:hammer:

it was contact after the 5 yard rule

what pissed me off is that it was so slight, it didn't even do anything, so he didn't even need to do it

seriously. if you are going to grab him, at least make it count. otherwise you get into those situations where the opponent is declining a 5 yarder penalty b/c they had a huge gain on the play anyway

If refs are gonna call that, then they MUST make the call when Crayton gets raped twice having to go back to the huddle half undressed....Consistency is all that most people want.

Not to mention the block in the backs on kicks, but Spencer could have filed sexual harrassmet charges on a couple of plays the way he was held. Refs are so worried about making sure the QB doesn't get hit that they are missing the obvious.

I agree with that call, but didn't understand why Ronde Barber wasn't called for the same thing on the play he was praised for against Patrick Crayton. Dallas needed 7 yards for the first down, Crayton was past the first-down marker and Barber had his hands all over him before breaking up the pass. It appeared that Crayton was trying to fight him off, but still that was the epitome of illegal contact.
